3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 BeerCast_Rich (1197) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 22, 2011
[keg at Cloisters, Edinburgh] Opaque red pour, cold condensation on the glass, very thin white head. Tart, raspberry aroma – smells like a Jolly Rancher. Quite sharp on the palate – strange stuff, tastes like Sorachi Ace [09112011] A5 A2 F6 P3 O12….also tasted….[cask at Red Squirrel] Clear red beer with a decent white head – very different to the keg version. Milder and with more caramel notes, some more sweetness. There’s still an odd edge to it – agree with Benjii’s vegetal comment. I can’t really tell if I like it or not, to be honest [13112011] A6 A4 F7 P3 O13
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Benjii (2366) - Edinburgh, SCOTLAND - NOV 10, 2011
On cask at the Black Isle Tap Takeover at Cloisters. Pours a red colour with a lacy beige head. Quite a vegetal aroma with caramel, grass and treacle. Some vegetal flavours also possibly zucchini and a little cabbage. Caramel, yeast, toffee and grass flavours also with lingering vegetal notes and black pepper. Moderate carbonation. This is a really interesting beer, I went back for more.

Keg at Cloisters tap takeover. nose is weirdly vegetal, cabbage!? also red fruit, some butterscotch. palate is bitter fruits, juicy and tasty, drying finish. not bad but strange.
