On tap at Black Lotus. Medium orange body, thin/medium off-white head. Earthy, dry aroma with prominent citrusy (orange, primarily) hops. Rich flavor of citrus and tropical fruit, including orange, grapefruit, and pineapple. Good bite, a tad thin. Enjoyable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 papsdatank (47) - Michigan, USA - JUL 22, 2011
Pours a clear golden color with a thick white head, not too bad, the aroma is citrus and piney hops, the taste is decent but not remarkable, it doesn’t have the balance I look for in a great IPA, it’s a little one dimensional. The palate is a little thin for my liking but not bad it is at least refreshing. All in all this isn’t bad, but uninspired, they were a little safe on this one.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 LilBeerDoctor (2609) - East Setauket, New York, USA - JUN 23, 2010
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear orange with a thick white head. Aroma of citrus, hop oils, and caramel malt. Flavor of citrus and floral hops -- this had a very nice hop character and was plenty hopped for an APA (that’s what it was labeled at the brewpub, although it certainly tasted more like an IPA). A solid hoppy pale ale and probably their best offering.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 RoscoeJackson (378) - Michigan, USA - MAY 27, 2010
i’m not that experienced with IPA’s, and maybe a lot of them just taste the same to me. i thought this was drinkable. the only beer they had on tap that actually had any bite.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 badnewsbeers (2297) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - APR 12, 2010
Lost my notes on this one. This was, however, much better than expected. Although my tasting was at a festival, during the consumption of several beers. Alas, my scribbles are illegible, but the numbers stand
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20 Braudog (4606) - Hampton, Virginia, USA - JAN 29, 2010
Draft pint at the brewpub. Golden amber with a sudsy head. The beer is taken over by a bit of tea-leaf character, along with a flat corny malt. Not horrible, but not real good. (#3820, 1/26/2010)
2.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 gearbike (510) - West Bloomfield, Michigan, USA - SEP 30, 2009
On tap at brewpub. A bit of an orange hue but rather clear. Very light and thin but drinkable. Almost seems like two different beers in one. Drinks like a rather flavorless pale ale but has a strong finish/aftertaste of grapefruit type hops.
1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 deyholla (3526) - Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 1, 2009
On tap at the MBG Summer Festival. Poured amber with an off-white head. Aroma was hoppy with a somewhat unpleasant wet wood aroma. Flavor tasted like wet dog and left quite an unpleasant aftertaste.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 xnoxhatex (1305) - Grand Rapids/Chicago, Michigan, USA - JUL 25, 2009
On tap at MBGSF. Clear orage amber with beige head. Aroma is spicey and earhty hops with a little bit of citrus and dry caramel. Flavor is herbally bitter with little antiseptic, dry. Light and watery. Nice hops but that antiseptic quality is off putting.
2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 MereLikesBeer (195) - Royal Oak, Michigan, USA - JUL 15, 2009
I had a few sips of this from BeerBaron617’s glass at the brewpub. Ya know, it didn’t smell all too bad....it actually had a decent hoppy aroma with some nice citrus on the nose. The taste was a real dissapointment. Not hoppy, not citrus, very very very light, and honestly I don’t know why this is an IPA. The oatmeal stout I had was much better at this bar.
