1945 Berliner Weisse Berliner Weisse is a very pale, sour, refreshing, low-alcohol wheat ale, and regional specialty of Berlin. Berliner Weisse was referred to by Napoleon’s troops in 1809 as "the Champagne of the North" due to its lively and elegant character. Enjoy the tart, refreshing flavor by itself, or try a more traditional German approach by mixing with a shot raspberry, woodruff, or other flavored syrup.

Clear pale golden. Aroma is lightly tart, some lemon and green apple. Flavour is light and refreshing, sour increases s it arms, but a bit simple. Nice anyways

Tangy and tasty for the price. Pretty refreshing actually for under 4%. Could drink a few of these

Pale orange cloudy with thin white head. Aroma of wet grains and wheat with some acidic tartness. Taste of Hefeweizen lie with some lemon peel and tart grapefruit. Some metallic edge at finish.

Hazy pale yellow pour with a white head. Mild malt character and mildly sour. Subtle lemon. A bit of wheat on the nose.

Great acidity, great malt balance. Aroma was pleasant and not overwhelming. Mixed with some home made syrups I made as well and held up to my favorite German-made Berlinerweisses. Great example of the style!

Bottle pours hazy yellow gold with a quickly dissipating white head. Aroma is relatively tame with notes of lemon grass, dusty wheat, and a strange sourness that I can’t quite put my finger on. Flavor shows lemon warheads, unripe green grapes, green apple skins, and cracker malt. The more I drink, the sour almost seems artificial (tartaric acid??) rather than a product of lacto. Overall body is light to moderate and the finish is dry.

Tap at sb. Pours a cloudy pale gold with a loose white head. Mild lemony salty nose. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Lemony, salty mid palate with soft wheat tang. Crisp tart finish. Very repeatable.

Bottle shared with a friend. Hazy yellow with a decent head. Aroma did not give away the nice tartness that was to follow in the flavor. I like this. Usually a Berliner Weisse leaves me wanting in the sour department, but this one left me happy.

Draft at Uber in Seattle. Almost clear, super pale yellow, white cream. Soft grainy aroma. Soft, a little lemony bite, cereal grain finish. Liquid cheerios. Nice, quenching, a bit of honey.

Appearance: slightly hazy pale gold with one finger of rocky white head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, spotty lacing. (3/5) Aroma: muted, wheat, citrus, slightly funky. (7/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter, moderate sour. (8/10) Palate: light body, moderate carbonation, dry and emphatic sour finish. (4/5) A pretty authentic example of the style - low ABV, lightly wheat and fruity flavours on a moderately sour base. Tart and refreshing. (15/20)
