COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
When we first introduced “Aftermath” in our tasting room, we were looking to produce a drinkable Pale Ale that wasn’t just a reproduction of everyone else’s Pale Ale. We succeeded in creating ours with a unique blend of 5 hop varieties to produce a pale with HUGE hop aroma and flavor, without the bitterness of an IPA.
Hops: Amarillo, Cascade, Centennial, Columbus, Mosaic
Malt: Pale, Munich

Can. Pours a clear amber color with a very large froth off-white head, despite a light and easy pour. Nose is definitely hop forward and grassy with a bit of floral notes coming through. Taste is actually pretty fresh and light, and only slightly bitter with some crispness to it. Solid drinkable beer.

Poured up on tap at the brewery where it exhibits a clear deep gold body that has copper hues and supports a near white head of foam leaving behind sheet lacing. The aroma is big inviting Mosiac and Cascade like hoppiness that pulls up the juiciness and mild maltiness. This smells nice. The taste hits with juicy tangelo and clementine malt sweetened hops. It gets resiny with grapefruit like citrus hop bitterness and pine hops to midway. Into the finish the malty base starts to make noise and joins in seamlessly with the citrusy hoppiness. Wow, a fresh glass of this is just delicious. I have been holding off buying this canned at a bottle shop since far too many pales go downhill fast. Fresh is best here.

Can. Bright bronze color with lasting ivory head. Dank, skanky pussy, tropical fruit, spicy hop aromas. Medium bodied. Nice hoppy spicy, pine, citrusy floral flavors with tropical fruits, dusty pale malts___nicely bitter finish----very tasty.

Can. Vibrant orange, faint amber hue. Expressive hop nose. Tropical, mellow orange. Clean, not pelletized like a Green Flash. Mute flavors, body is pale and not much else. A bit of a carbonation wash out on the sides subdues any potential flavors. Sharp hop bitterness, guessing from high bittering addition as no resin/leafy/pellet taste is detectable. Flavor does not match nose. Would appreciate more definitive taste character. Would drink again, but nothing to recommend. I would like to try another from the brewery.

Can from Bob’s.

Yellow-orange with a pitted near-white head, IPA-looking pour. Powerful blast of grapefruit zest and Mosaic onion on the nose. Fair bit of mango as well. Flavor lands pretty much in IPA territory, maybe somewhat more quaffable. Damn, this Mosaic thing is just so hard for me to get past. But as I go on with the glass, it mellows a bit (just don’t inhale) and this one starts to make sense.

Can:   Pithy start, a little grapefruit.   Bitter bit not biting.   Fairly sweet, some candied citrus peel.   Bitterness dies off quickly.   A slight hint of tea leaves.   Decent example.

Pour out of can hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of pine, lemon, orange peel, bitter pithy fruits, hints of biscuit and bread, slight yeast. Taste is a mix of yeast, spice, some hints of bread, nice lemon, orange peel, grapefruit, slight oxidation but not bad, finishing fairly bitter. Nice.

Pours a kind of murky, bright orange appearance with a lastin off white head. Aroma is really nice, lots of tangerine, mango, tropical fruits, and some spicy hops. A little bit bready flavor and moderately high bitterness, but tons of delicious tropical fruity notes, especially mango. Somewhat bitter finish. Fairly well balanced. Nice brew.

Pours a hazy orange color with a nice white head. Aroma is floral, spruce, citrus, a little muted. Flavor is citrus, pine, a little dank, overall pretty nice hop character, without much malt to even it out. One-sided, but pretty good, if not too exciting.

Type: 12-oz.can Glass: Can/pint glass From: Whole Foods in La Jolla (San Diego), Calif. Price: $9.99 for a 6-pack Purchased: April 19, 2014 Consumed: April 19, 2014 Misc.: Rated everything but the color on a train; rated the color the next day Poured a caramel, orange, semi-clear color with 2-to-3 fingers of white foamy head. Good foamy lacing along the sides of the glass. Good retention. Smelled sugary floral notes, citrus notes, grapefruit, butter orange, resin hops, tropical hops and orange sorbet. Tasted similar to the nose. Got sweet floral notes first, citrus, orange sorbet, resin hops, tropical hops, mango and slight butter notes. Light body. Thin-to-oily texture. Average-to-soft carbonation. Rather abrupt finish. A very good pale ale. Will definitely have it again.
