Because of the gravitational pull of Black Hole Sun, no light can escape. This super high gravity Russian Imperial Stout is brewed with 100% barley and zero added sugar. Black Hole Sun will make a fine evening companion. Let it warm a bit to enjoy its entire magnitude of flavor complexities.

Strong alcohol aroma, pretty stinky really. Pours thick black with a thick foamy brown head. Super sweet chocolate flavor with strong alcohol finish.

Dark brown color, brown head. Mexican vanilla, dark chocolate and roast dominate the nose and flavor. A tad thin but overall not bad.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours very, very black with a creamy dark tan head. Aroma is chocolate with something that could be anything from strange coffee to bourbon/vanillia to anise. It’s an incredibly nice aroma. Very full bodied. Flavor is so strong my tongue flexed and my eyes squinted. Chocolate. Really good cacao. Extremely smooth burnt malt. Heat? Suddenly noticed warmth 6 inches south of my mouth. So also coffee and a hint of anise. There’s a lot going on with this one. It’s certainly complex in my book. It finishes with something that suggests sour, but isn’t. Damn tasty ale.

Bottle. Pours black...if dark black was a thing I would say it pours dark black. Aroma is vanilla. Flavor is an onslaught of booze but finishes smooth. Some chocolate, vanilla and other flavors. Not a bad beer at all but the high abv is tough to deal with

Peacehammer (622) - California, USA - OCT 31, 2012
thick black pour, minimal chocolate colored head. Strong whiskey vanilla aroma, not much else on the nose. Slight chocolate note on the flavor, but the dominant character is the whiskey. Bitter chocolate aftertaste. Full bodied smooth.

Getbetter (874) - East Palo Alto, California, USA - OCT 11, 2012
From a tap, dark brown, very very boozey, chocolate, brown head, toffee, roasty, full body, slick feel, average carbonation, it is good but its not the best high abv%.
