Beauty pour. Dark amber with tons of frothy yellowish head and sticky lacing. The nose is lightly toffee and caramel with a bit of chocolate and nuts. Moderate citrus hops. Well balanced, hot boozy finish. Mildly bitter. Overall, just a bit underwhelming.

650ml bomber pours amber in color with a generous 2 finger off-white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass. Aroma is caramel with some dark fruits and pine. Taste is a light pine hop bitterness with a dark fruity and caramel malty sweetness. Medium bodied with nice carbonation that satisfies the palate. Overall, a very enjoyable red ale that balances the malts and hops really well.

Aeomas of carbonated malts, toffee, oak, vanilla, nougat, burnt sugar and funky yeast. Appears dark brown with an extremely large foam top. Taste is carbonated malts, toffee, milky caramel, nougat, creamy malts and biscuit malt. Overall finishes dry with tons of biscuit, cracker malt. Noticeable dry malts and subtle hop oils on the finish. A- rating. Very nice deep malt body yet still being hoppy.

BOTTLE. Red to brown pour with small off white head. Sight booze on the nose with sweet malt also. Caramel malt flavour up front, rolling into a hoppy bitterness - boozy back end. Warms you up Sourced The Pourhouse

Bottled; 22oz bomber. Color is clear deep copper red. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma has a character of peppery biscuit, sweet malt, light smoke and nutmeg spice. Flavor hits you up front with malt sweetness and acidity, with an immediate transition to hop bitterness with notes of caramel and strong alcohol. Not many roasty malt flavors, smoke, or spice that follow the flavor assault. The flavor is lacking depth and complexity. The flavors finish quick with lasting alcohol heat. It’s OK overall, but the flavor misses the mark when trying to match the aroma.

Sample at the Aces & Ales Winter Beer Fest on 01/18/2015. Pours a dark copper color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of piney hops, grapefruit and malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a fruity hops aftertaste. Above average overall.

Bottle from Haggen’s Grocery, Woodinville
Very dark brown color. Moderate aroma of dark malts, light hop resins, lightly fruity. Good body strength, moderately sweet, caramel flavor, lightly buttery, with correct bitterness, some fruity and resiny hops, and a bit nutty too.
Not bad.

22 oz. bottle, pours a dark amber / mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, dried dark fruit, earthy notes and BO. Flavour brings out lots of dry bready caramel malt, with a light-to-medium resinous hop profile, and some muted vegetal notes. Not very sophisticated. Simple, but drinkable.

650ml bottle. Pours a handsome copper amber, with a large light beige head, which lasts well and leaves good lacing. Bitter herbal and sappy hops dominate the aroma, with burnt caramel and toffee hidden in there as well. Strong sappy and herbal hops up front give way to toffee in the mid-palate, with a resin undercurrent running through. Soft toffee malt gives it a surprisingly smooth finish. This is not bad, but I’m not a huge fan of the hops flavours, which seem overly herbaceous. It is quite well-balanced, on the plus side.

650ml bottle from Archive Beer Boutique 030314. Great red ale with heaps of character, big and malty.
