Liberation IPA Is an Imperial IPA, which means that we took the malt and hop character of a regular IPA and kicked everything up a few notches. Liberation is a malt and hop powerhouse that drinks smooth and hides its strength. Drink this one fresh to preserve all the hoppy goodness.
Hops: Amarillo, Cascade, Columbus
Malt: Pale, Crystal, Wheat

A nice one. Many times with this style -- particularly at high ABV like here -- the flavor is way too resin-forward. No such issues here. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear orangish amber with a small white head. Aroma of tropical fruits, mango, passionfruit, orange peel, sweet pale malts and some pine. Taste is a big burst of tropical fruits, passionfruit, papaya, sweet caramel malts, light pine and a nice medium dry finish. Great balance with a smooth bitterness and flavor... Love this ipa!

Strong fresh hop aroma coming off a clear golden orange body with a wispy white head. Astringent, pungent, resiny bitterness bombards the tongue with delicious grapefruit and citrus pith. Just as you think this it’s going to continue this bitter laceration, along comes a nice caramel and honey sweetness that pushes back against this assault. Ultimately the hops win this battle and lay down a palate scraping grassy, pithy dryness that lasts long after the sip is done. This is dangerously easy to drink and I think the hops are masking the 9.5% ABV. Even with that knowledge, I’m glad I only have 1 bottle right now since I’d be tempted to crack open another.

22oz bottle pours clear copper with thin gold edges and a near white head of foam that leaves behind some sheet lacing. The aroma offers up lots of various hops with dank earthy hops, bold pine hops and some grapefruit hoppiness. The taste is similar with a moderate degree of dank spicy earthy hops quickly moving toward a firm level of pine and grapefruit hoppy goodness. Around the edges of this experience I get some malts and a touch of biscuit malts and a bit of floral hops. This has lots of various hops coming together in a pleasing harmony for me. Yum.

Cloudy dark amber beer, good pale cream coloured head. Palate is a great carbonation of soft and smooth but with good fine carbonation providing a nip. Lovely bittersweet pine hops, trace of mint. Underneath is good creamy malt with a touch of caramel. Finishes creamy soft with more piney hops, mostly sweet this time. Touch of fresh orange. Slight aniseed. Well joined up and super drinkable DIPA.

A - Pours a slightly hazy copper-orange with a finger of frothy white head. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some nice lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of grapefruit, tropical, citrus, pine, and grassy hops with some sweet caramel and biscuit malts and a touch of booze. T - Starts off with a mix of grapefruit, tropical, and citrus hops with some bitterness and sweet caramel malts. Through the middle, pine and grassy hops come through with some more resiny bitterness and a touch of biscuit malts. The finish is a mix of grapefruit and pine hops with some resiny bitterness, sweet caramel malts, and a hint of booze. M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a dry, bitter, and lightly sweet finish. D - Very drinkable. Good overall balance with a nice hop profile and bitterness throughout.

From a 650ml bottle on 9/10/2014. Pours an opaque dark golden with a smallish head. Has a pleasant if not spectacular fruity hop aroma with some light caramel notes. The flavour gives you quite a bit of sweet citrus and stone fruit (mandarin, apricot) and a touch of honey, set off against a mild caramel malt background. There’s a decent but not over the top bitterness at the end with some resin lingering quite prominently at the back. The texture is syrupy and the carbonation is moderate. Very easy to drink for the size. This is a very solid and enjoyable DIPA but just lacks the character and focus of the very best brews in this style.
