As its namesake suggests, Quadrophenia is a Belgian style quadruple ale. We ferment Quadrophenia using Trappist ale yeast, which produces the spicy, phenolic flavors sometimes mistaken for added spices. The unique characteristics of caramel don’t come from the Pale and Munich malts, but from the introduction of Coconut Palm Sugar used in the brewing process.
Hops: Czech Saaz, Magnum
Malt: Pale, Munich, Coconut Palm Sugar

bright orange color with a rich ivory head. Apricot, peach aromas with spicy yeast, caramel, cereal grains, mild alcohol. Medium body with soft co2. Sweet grainy caramel flavors with light pit fruits, spicy belgian yeast, and toffee---alcohol is well cloaked-----very tasty Quad.

$7.99 bomber purchased a couple months ago at Olive Tree Market in OB for $7.99.Clear light to medium auburn with a 1/2 finger creamy beige head, low retention. Big sweet brown sugar and spicy clove and ripe banana presence right up front, light drying graham cracker on the backend. Flavor follows suit, but does a good job of not doing this the American way and having way way too much (perceived) sweetness. Pretty raisiny and fruity, though I’m not really getting much sweetness. Big full body with low prickly carbonation. One of the better American made quads I’ve had in recent memory.

Bottle pours almost clear burnt orange with brief thin white head. Aroma dark fruits and licorice. Taste caramel, banana and slight dark fruits with spices, predominately licorice. Palate on the thin side for a quad. Finish a continuation of the taste. Alcohol slightly apparent but does have a nice alcohol burn at times.

Good but not with the complexity and richness you’d normally associated with a quadrupel.

On tap at The Daily Pint. Poured deep gold/amber, slight haze, with a quickly fading frothy head and nice lace. Rich caramel and deep malt aromas form a background for candy and brown sugar, dark fruit, spices and Belgian yeast. Sweetness of the caramel and malt dominate the flavor profile, accentuated by sugars, figs and plums, and alcohol. Medium body, lively carbonation, smooth mouthfeel, and a gently sweet finish.

Pours a slightly hazy orange color. A bit of a raisin-esque aroma. First flavor notes are citrus and spice and then vanilla before the alcohol and some slickness arrive. I also do detect some of the coconut that is mentioned on the label too.

Bomber from Bine & Vine. Pours clear copper with a foamy off-white head. Smell is clean and rather floral. Caramel backbone. Full bodied. Flavor is yeast/spice, banana ester, caramel, kandi, and some medium dark fruit. This is a very clean and pleasing drink. Heat may be present, but it’s not getting in the way of anything. Sort of like adding to the yeast/spice. The finish is nearly dry. This stuff is way too drinkable.

A - Pours a hazy red-orange with a thin finger of frothy white head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving behind a touch of lace. S - Aroma is a mix of rich sweet caramel and dark malts with candi sugar, dark fruit, Belgian yeast, spices, and some booze. T - Starts off with a mix of sweet caramel and dark malts, with some dark fruits and spices. Through the middle, some candi sugars come through with some more Belgian yeast flavors and spices. The finish is a mix of caramel malts, dark fruits, Belgian yeast, spices, and some booze. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and warming finish. D - Very drinkable. Nice Quad. Good overall balance with good Belgian flavors.

Bottle; poured a dark caramel color with a smallish sized head. Aroma of candy sugar, yeast, and alcohol. Flavor was a bit mild in flavor, but fit the profile. Alcohol was really present, especially in the finish.
