COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As its namesake suggests, Quadrophenia is a Belgian style quadruple ale. We ferment Quadrophenia using Trappist ale yeast, which produces the spicy, phenolic flavors sometimes mistaken for added spices. The unique characteristics of caramel donít come from the Pale and Munich malts, but from the introduction of Coconut Palm Sugar used in the brewing process.
Hops: Czech Saaz, Magnum
Malt: Pale, Munich, Coconut Palm Sugar

WOW! This beer has everything a Quad need to be. Great job on the use of the Belgium yeast! I would buy this beer again. High ABV so watch yourself.

650 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark brown color with a small off-white head that soon recedes to a fine ring. The aroma is very mild with apricots and brown sugar. The taste is mildly fruity with pears and apricots, but its the malt base that really dominates this one. The malts are rather toffee-ish and are loaded with sugars. The palate is full and just a bit oily with light carbonation. Finishes short and unmemorable. Overall: Drinkable, original even, but this one really misses the mark by a wide berth.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Caramel and yeast aroma with light toffee. Caramel and toffee flavor with yeast. Medium plus bodied. Toffee and caramel linger with yeast and light spice.

On tap at the brewery. Quad fail. It pours a translucent mahogany color where a little head bubbles off to a small collar. It smells too sour for the style right off the bat. The body is OK, about the right viscosity. The taste is disappointing, however - itís sweet, syrup-y, bitter, but something ugly in it I canít quite put my finger on. Itís not as fruity or complex as others Iíve had (so youíre left with nothing but alcoholic bitterness), but I donít really know why. Pass until they get the recipe right.

Tap at the brewery tasting room. Pours a low haze deep orange with weak foam. Nose is heavy DMS/vegetal, something like Chinese orange chicken with broccoli, perhaps more beefy like Chinese take out orange beef. Taste is cloying to the max. Undrinkable. Way too much sugar.

bright orange color with a rich ivory head. Apricot, peach aromas with spicy yeast, caramel, cereal grains, mild alcohol. Medium body with soft co2. Sweet grainy caramel flavors with light pit fruits, spicy belgian yeast, and toffee---alcohol is well cloaked-----very tasty Quad.

$7.99 bomber purchased a couple months ago at Olive Tree Market in OB for $7.99.Clear light to medium auburn with a 1/2 finger creamy beige head, low retention. Big sweet brown sugar and spicy clove and ripe banana presence right up front, light drying graham cracker on the backend. Flavor follows suit, but does a good job of not doing this the American way and having way way too much (perceived) sweetness. Pretty raisiny and fruity, though Iím not really getting much sweetness. Big full body with low prickly carbonation. One of the better American made quads Iíve had in recent memory.

Rando7 (752) - Iowa, USA - JAN 7, 2013
Bottle pours almost clear burnt orange with brief thin white head. Aroma dark fruits and licorice. Taste caramel, banana and slight dark fruits with spices, predominately licorice. Palate on the thin side for a quad. Finish a continuation of the taste. Alcohol slightly apparent but does have a nice alcohol burn at times.

Good but not with the complexity and richness youíd normally associated with a quadrupel.
