A brown beer that balances the influences of English malt and yeast and American hops. Notes of chocolate, coffee, toffee and caramel play nicely with a healthy dose of citrusy hops, making for a noteworthy twist on the traditional concept of a Brown Ale.
Hops: Cascade, Columbus
Malt: Pale, Munich, Brown, Chocolate

Note: Formerly known as Black Market Anglo-American Style Brown.

22 fl oz bottle into pint glass. Cocoa/chocolate nose. Hazy red/brown beer with two finger white head. Sparse carbonation. Flat mouthfeel, oily texture. Finish is coffee bitterness and a hint of fruit cordial. Somewhere between a brown ale and a stout. Much nicer as it warms.

Little hop, lots of cocoa and coffee notes. Pretty progressive brown. Goes with the sandwich I’m eating.

Overall pretty good brown. Poured an amazingly clear brown with nice layered tan head. Aroma subdued but brown malts evident. Taste of biscuit lightly toasted barley and some toffee sweetness. Way better than that swill Newcastle. I’d get again.
