3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle - 650ml. Hazy amber body with a thin off-white foamy head. Lovely hoppy aroma with malty, butterscotch, and mango hints. Alcohol is subtle. Its sharp, well balanced hoppy taste carries oaky, orange, herbal and malty notes. Ends with a long, moderately warming, bitter finish. Very well done.

Funny i had this 10th anniversary beer last year too. I guess they love living in the past. No problems here because its great beer. Dark amber/copper colour with a long lasting thick head. Great beer for the fall and holiday season.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pour is caramel with a pillow off-white head that lasts FOREVER. You could go off and read Atlas Shrugged and this beer would still have a fluffy cap on it when you finished. Lacing is fantastic too.
Nose is heavy pine and cedar, faint citrus and caramel. Taste is beautiful, chewy toffee/butterscotch malt with a mordantly bitter finish. I would’ve liked a tad more hop aromas and flavours, but judging by other reviews it’s probably just the fact that the bottle is now two months old. Overall this is really good stuff, and something I’d love to try on tap.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a coppery color with a medium sized white head. Lively carbonation. Thick lacing painting the glass as drunk.
Aromas are of orange zest, forest with pine and spruce, and some underlying caramel.
Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Tastes of bitter orange peel, tangy citrus, caramel malt, and bread.
This would satisfy both hop heads and those looking for a strong, balanced beer. Lots of everything in this one.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650 ml bottle to snifter (shared with the Mrs.). Bottle is dated 23 4 14. Looks solid; malty though. A transparent burnt orange with off-white head. Smells of bittersweet malt and bitter hops with notes of toffee and a bit of booziness. Tastes like it smells, but less bitter. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied. A solid example of the style.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured a frothy 2" head that flattened and held nicely. Amber colour with a nice dry hoppy bite.
High abv was well hidden.
Enjoyable and will grab a few more to age in the cellar.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours clear pale to medium amber with two fat fingers of frothy tan head diminishing gradually to a thick cap, chunky lacing. Nose is caramel malt, pine, grapefruit, mango and pineapple. Taste follows suit, moderate sweet and emphatic peppery bitter. Medium sticky and chewy body, moderate sustained carbonation, and a long dry bitter finish.
An excellent American D/I IPA with loads of body and character. It’s hop-forward and aggressive, with very well integrated higher ABV. However, either the hop selection or the water chemistry are acting to dull the edge slightly - the hops aren’t as bright as they might be. (The bottle is only six weeks old, so I don’t see age as the issue.) That being said, it’s still a bit of a hop bomb (83 IBU) so it’s kind of like being hit in the mouth with a dull axe, instead of a sharp one.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a very lightly hazed amber/gold with a moderately sized creamy white head. Aromas are wood/erath, citrus, and resin. Tastes like a good punch in the head (as an IPA should) but not quite to the extent of an Amsterdam Boneshaker. Despite the hoppy assertiveness there’s a pretty good biscuity malt backbone and some fruit that make this more than a one trick pony. Very astringent, really bites the palate, and leaves a long bitter finish. Pretty good for a beer that packs 8% abv but I have to admit the astringency was a little much for my palate.
