[4220-20111231] Cask. Hazy, dark red pink body with a quick foamy white head. More root fruity grain malt in the flavour with a light peppery tea undertone. Medium body. Tasty, interesting. (7/3/7-/3/14) 3.4

Palate / Taste: medium bodied. Clean bitter character, bit earthy at mid. Cellar like notes. Milky finish. Very refreshing.

On cask at Volo. Pours a very reddish brown with thin off-white head. Aroma is sort of fruity with a light hoppiness. Taste also has an unusual fruit character with floral/grassy hops. A little on the thin side. Very different from Black Oak Pale. But decent.

2012-12-31. Bright red, headless. 3+ Aroma is quite fruity, generic fruit and ale yeast fruit character. Flavour is similar with an odd but pleasant fruit character up front - pale ale meets beets - Green leafy undertones from the pale ale hops, dry fruit notes, pleasant soft effervescence. Average bodied palate suits the beer. Surprisingly drinkable and enjoyable, the beets offer more to the colour than the flavour but are an intriguing accent in the flavour. Certainly the beer that prompted the most interesting discussions of the evening :) Cask at Volo, Toronto
