Bottle at Mondial 2010. Pours a nice deep rich pitch midnight black with a very dark charcoal brown/gray head. Aroma is oily dark chocolate, toast, anise, nuts, and big fresh chocolate covered cherry with slight cherry juice as it warms. Flavor is chocolate, toast, nuts, caramel sweetness light honey, molasses, dark chocolate, cherry juice is prominent esp in the back of the throat with a slight slickness but overall this was pretty good.

tasted at the mondiale de la bière in Montréal. pours black with a thin brown head. aroma is dark chocolate and a bit of cherries. taste is choclate, coffee, and cherries with a slight hops finish. the downside of this beer is the mouthfeel. too watery. not bad, but not at all great.

341ml bottle from the brewery. Black pour with a tan head. Some far off roastyness in the aroma, and some up front fruityness. Tastes like an average stout, until you hit the tart finish which must be from the cherries. Very nice beer.

Pours black, small brown head with lots of lacing. Aroma is lots of roasted malt with some coffee and just a small hint of cherry. Taste is similar with some tart sweetness as from the cherries. A little over carbonated, and little un-intense flavourwise, but still quite good.

On tap. Just about black with a small tan head. Caramel, chocolate, and a hint of cherries in the aroma. Flavour is chocolate, sweet & tart cherries, and a little roast. Slightly metallic finish. Thinner than it should be. Good, but I was expecting more intensity. Or something.

Draught: Pours jet black, nice browner-than-average foamy head on top. Aroma is quite roasty, dark chocolate and just a hint of those promised cherries. Great sweet malty chocolate flavour, mild cherries, perhaps a little cinnamon? Very well done, I’d been looking forward to this for a while and loved the opportunity to finally try it.

Bottle sample thanks to Milos- A deep brown pour with a frothy mocha cap. Nose of fresh cherries and dark chocolate, coffee, some roasted malts. Tastes sweet, of dark chocolate with some anise and pit fruits. FInishes with bitter coffee/chocolate and a pleasing cherry aftertaste. Very good.

Best beer I sampled on my brewery tours at my Stag night. Pours a dark black. Great chocolatey roasted malts, light yet creamy body. Just a hint of cherris, which is just perfect.

a very solid stout. The chocolate roasted maltiness is the predominant flavour with a hint of cherry in the flavour. I can’t say that I detected cherry on the nose. mouthfeel is decent, although if II were being picky I would have liked it a bit smoother, perhaps less carbonation. Overall nice brew

On Tap At C’est What? A deep black pour, nice aroma of roasted malt, and dark chocolate, with a very subtle, but still there, sweet cherry. Flavor is more of a stout, but a well made one. The cherry is there in the aroma, but i can’t really detect it much more anywhere else. All in all though, a nice drinking stout.
