3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Radek Kliber (5906) - Toronto (Can) Krotoszyn (Pol), POLAND - OCT 4, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2007 On tap @ Volo, Toronto
2007 Version , fresh cask. Pours brown with good top.
Felt much richer than old 06 version . Plenty of chocolate, roasted malts less so cherry.
Old: Sweet brown malts dominate this scene, hint of euro continental hops behind.
Full , matured dark ale. Good , full bodied . For Starbucks lovers think of Raspberry Mocha but with cherry accents. Great improvement vs. batch one. Good brew.
Clean slightly vinous . Pleasant, neat woody bitter touches. Late fruit finish. Brewmasters excellence and detail oriented techniques are well shown. Almost perfect as dunkel goes just a bit boring / mainstream .

Aroma has chocolate, malt, some coffee and a hint of molasses. Darkest brown, red at the edges, and a small toffee head. Flavour has cherry, subdued roast coffee. Light bodied, with some mild bitter notes. Pretty good. I think I’d like to try this without the cherry.

12 oz bottle shared with toncatcher. Nice dark pour with decent tan head. Some Chocolate and cherry on the aromas. Smelled like weak cordial cherries. Flavor fell way off for me though. Flavors were still there, but just didn’t hit me the way the aromas did. Funny finish that didn’t really seem to belong to this beer.

Very dark and thick in colour and head. Rich toasty malts and hints of cherry and chocolate. Sweet malty flavour with a very light cherry and chocolate aftertaste. Quite nice, but not the best stout I’ve had.

Bottle from Matt7215! Pours a black color, small head, smell of coffee and roasted malt. Flavor is the same, roasted malt, coffee but a lingering sweetness (cherry) in the aftertaste. Medium texture for a stout. Not bad but nothing special eithier. Thanks again Matt!

On tap at Beer Bistro in Toronto. From memory as I had this a few months ago. I was disappointed with the lack of flavour and body. Faint aroma of chocolate. Black with tan head. Flavour was cherry chocolate but not as intense as I was hoping, not very rich and not much body.

tasted at the mondiale de la bière in Montréal. pours black with a thin brown head. aroma is dark chocolate and a bit of cherries. taste is choclate, coffee, and cherries with a slight hops finish. the downside of this beer is the mouthfeel. too watery. not bad, but not at all great.

On tap. Black pour, big tan head. Aroma is cocoa, coffee. The cherries don't really show up until it warms, so definitely not overpowering. Medium body. I'm not getting much of anything off this, although it does have a unique cocoa finish. Like real cocoa mom used to make in a pot, except without the sugar. Slight sour cherry on the finish. It's solid but there's something missing.

Bottle provided by csbosox. Pours dark brown with some dark red hues. Brown head that mostly fades. Roast, coffee, molasses, cherry, and cocoa powder in the nose. Pretty chocolaty with light roasted character. Bitter finish with some tartness. Light body. High carbonation. Dry finish that lingers a bit. Interesting enough but not something to get excited about.
