Magtek32 (76), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 13, 2007 341ml Bottle. Pours black with a slight touch of dark red at the bottom of the glass, off white/tan head that diminished quickly. Aromas of roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, cherries. The cherries statrt to come out more in the taste along with notes of chocolate, coffee and slight roasted malt. Medium bodied, not quite as thick as I expected, more like a porter, and it ends with a nice sweet finish. A good sweet stout.
garthicus (559), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2008 Appearance: Deep black, slight pancake mix coloured head. Aroma - Cinnamon - cherry pop tart mmm. Flavour - Burnt toast, cinnamon, malt, cherry. Lovely, really nice. radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 27, 2008 Dark brown in colour with ruby edges, thin but lingering beige coloured head, good lacing. The aroma had some coffee, chocolate and a very light cherry tartness. The flavour is chocolaty, malty with a light roast, mildly bitter, some black forest cake. Lightly sweet mouthfeel, medium/light body, mild carbonation. Finishes with some burnt notes and a chocolate sweetness.
This was pretty good. The chocolate was definitely more prominent then the cherries.
Draught at Volo in Toronto, Ontario.

O.K.? gilvanblight (341), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Jul 20, 2008 On tap at BeerBistro. Near black pour with a large rose head. Smokey scent like dark chocolat. Too Dary and too smokey, not all at sweet. My wife loved it, I really wasn’t impressed. I’m not a big fan of fruit beers though. mgermani (621), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 18, 2008 Pours a pitch black with an incredible and uncontrollable head. Aroma is chocolate-fudge cookies, but a bit understated. Tastes like chocolate cookie as well, very milky and creamy with a light cocoa rather than roasted character. No hops for miles. Light sourish aftertaste, the cherries are more apparent as it warms, and then it tastes like black forest cake! Light on the carb, but good and thick like a chocolate milkshake. My opinion of this beer improved as I sipped and as it warmed. A thoughtful inclusion by Jerc in our latest trade.
