Picked up a while ago in Toronto I picked this out when in the mood for something lighter and mellow. This fit the bill perfectly. An all around well planned beer this is what regional breweries should aspire to.
Aroma / Appearance - The fuzzy soft head was full of holes like swiss cheese. Underneath a bronze/copper blend bubbled with life. Maple syrup, hash browns, peat, and spruce smelled like a breakfast made around a campfire in early spring.
Flavor / Palate - Homemade iced tea that basked in the sun mixes with mocha, brownies, and a twist of citrus (lemon). The earthen finish wraps up a consistently flavorful experience. Overall I regret only having room for one of these; I would have enjoyed bringing home a six pack. Fred82 (378), Montreal, Quebec, Canada

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 29, 2009 Updated: Oct 31, 2009From the OCB discovery pack no. 2. 341ml bottle poured into a mug. Poured a clear brown with 1/8" creamy white foam which was gone pretty quick. Aroma of burnt toasts, malts, a little nutty, hint of coffee. Tastes of strong toasted malt flavor with some bitterness. Also pretty complex with traces of caramel, coffee, nuts and wine notes. Low carbonation with a smooth finish. A little better than average because the tasty complex flavors made me which I had more then one to drink. ChrisThomson (393), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 18, 2009 Anything involving a squirrel can’t be bad unless it involves your face. Pours a nice, clear dark brown brew with a thumb high mildly foamy head that condenses into a creamier cover. Really messy lacing throughout. Fresh, attentive aromas of bready malts (sweet side), honey, floral notes, weak chocolate, apricot, soft caramel. Tasty stuff - I was a little put off when it was colder. Good bitterness, roasted malts, slight coffee, some nuttiness, slight sourness right before the finish that lingers on along with the malty and bitter aftertaste. The lack of coffee based power is very welcome. Smooth beer... very smooth. I wish this was available in Edmonton.
