On cask. Dark mahogney colored pour with small off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, caramel and nuts. Taste of roasted malts, toffee, slight chocolate, slightly nutty and very faint hop finish. Medium bodied, creamy mouthfeel, lower carbonation, nicely balanced, good brown ale!

650 mL bottle. Pours walnut with a thick lacy head of off white. Mild nut and caramel aromas, a hint of butteriness, cocoa and black tea. Actually quite dry, subtle sweetness and only a hint of hop. Light to medium body with moderate carbonation. A nice session beer.

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Pours a clear, dark caramel with a one finger, frothy, off white head that clings to the glass. Aroma has notes of bread and caramel with slight hints of fruits, roasted malts, and nuts. Taste is balanced and smooth with a mild roastyness and a hint of hop bitterness on the finish. Medium body and carbonation. Slightly creamy texture that lends itself well to the roasted flavours. Overall tasty and very drinkable. I could see this being a go to, everyday darker beer. Cheers!

A very nice nut brown here. It has a good balance and nice nutty, roasted malt flavors. Slight bite of hops on the end. Solid offering.

Pours a very deep amber, almost like maple syrup. A nice bubbly head, and great lacing. Aroma notes include warm notes of vanilla, nuts, caramel, roasted malts, toffee, and a hint of cinnamon. The palate is very smooth and well rounded, with a big upfront blast of smoked malts, and caramels. Very smooth beer, as the palate develops notes of nuts, more smoke, pepper, and a slight bitter finish. This is a very excellent brown ale!!

Bottle from The Beer Store. Pours a very clear dark brown with a small off white head. Nose is roasted malts and brown sugar with some nuts. Taste is quite sweet with malts and nuts dominant and a hint of molasses and honey. Mouth is medium slick with soft carbonation. Finish is quite dry but not bitter.
