Pours a deep cola brown, with a generous light tan head. Smells lightly of nuts and chocolate, not much of an aroma present, likely because of the head. Tastes of nuts and chocolate, into a very nice fruity/nutty finish which is fairly dry. Mouthfeel is adequate but not great, a bit thin.

Attractive dark brown color. Winey, dark fruit, wood and smoke aroma. Relatively simple malt flavor. Slightly nutty and smoky, but way too think in the mouth. Decent, but lacks complexity.

Sep 18, 2008 Dark brown with red tinting. Little to no head. Smells like diacetyl, chestnuts, and plant roots as well as caramel malts. Quaffable mouthfeel. Great roasted malt flavors. Thin finish but in a quaffable way. Light chocolate. Solid nut brown.

Aug 17, 2008 Updated: Aug 25, 2008341ml bottle. Faint roasty aroma. Dark amber brown with large foamy beige head that thins to a fine line. Disappointing lack of taste. Faint hint of malted hazel with a dry aftertaste.

Jul 20, 2008 On draft at Beer Bistro. Deep red pour with a decent head. Nutty aroma. Warm taste of hazlenutes, almonds and warm malts. Very drinkable and well balanced. Prefer this to other nut browns I have had like NewCastle.

Jul 15, 2008 Updated: Jul 31, 2008Bouteille de 431 ml (6 pac) cheté au LCBO de Summerhill (Toronto), le 13/7/08. Brune noisette, collet mince. Arome de malte légèrement chocolaté, quelques notes de petits fruits. Goût un peu amère, un peu houblonné avec des notes de fruits et noix malté. Une brune simple mais agréable!
