Very dark brown with a small, tan head. Aromas of spice and malt. Initial malty bitterness and strong roast/coffee flavour with a hint of cinnamon. Very enjoyable porter gets me in the holiday spirit!

"strong" being a relative term in terms of a 5.5 percent brew, well sure I ainít complianciní but it sure donít seem likes a "strong" in my books..... howímnever we do understand that Ontarians have a constitutional weakness compared to the rest of the world, whereas they just canít handle things like reality and relativity relative to the rest of the country and/or planet weís done lives in.....nonetheless Iís got some okay beige head here and brown body, average at best methinks. Aroma is sweet coffee, carrotcake, barley, pumpkin, kinda meh. Flavour is a lot of roasted barley with a decent dry finish, but itís dry and carrot-y and not complex at all..... which leads me to believe that some may rave over it, but again itís not the kinda beer Iíd advise you to buy a plane ticket to go find. Itís all right, fo sho, no complaints (well, a few) but itís not a spectacular mess. And at aroond 2000 ratings, thatís exactly what Iím looking for - canít imagine reviewing all these middling beers for the next decade, sounds like boredom incarnate. Get me some godlike stuff that I can take to the grave, or get outttathaway. Amen, and all that.

Draught at The Craft Brasserie. Roasted malt, cocoa, dried fruit, touch of spice, mildly nutty, fairly dry finish. Donít really get much cinnamon but otherwise a decent porter, if not slightly overhyped.

A big coffee nose on a near-black body with a thin tan head. A really nice and relatively rich porter for 5.8% abv. Taste profile leads with cafť au lait, supported by some semi-sweet chocolate and a touch of cherries. Not getting any cinnamon here. A nice creamy mouth feel and relatively dry finish make this a winner.

Bottle, shared with my father in law. Very dark brown, tan head. Rich and fudgey, flavours of chcoclate and light coffee. Creamy mouthfeel, roasty bitter finish. A great straight-up porter. Iím not getting any spice at all though... (which I think is a good thing, given the craftsmanship here).

Dark cherry in colouring, with a very thin mocha head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of dark cherries, chocolate and cafe au lait. Flavours of dark cherries, and other assorted red fruits. Bit of alcohol warming that couldnít quite be hidden, but is quite welcome as a precursor to Christmas dinner. This is a very nicely done Porter and I am glad I picked one up

I'm going to be less generous than my buddy Tiki, but I share his sense of confusion about this stuff. It's....weird. I get the usual porter notes, but mostly I get this weird smokey spice combo that really isn't doing it for me. It's supposed to be cinnamon but it feels more like....Christ I don't know. I want to say this stuff reminds me sushi - and it's more than the soy sauce aroma it's giving off. I wanted a nice wintery porter and instead I'm going to struggle to finish this, all the while craving unobtainable-at-4am sushi. This stuff isn't terrible but it's definitely found a new way of being a disappointment. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650ml brown bottle. Deep brown colour, creamy and sticky tan head. Aroma is chocolate/cocoa. Taste cocoa/choc malts. Dryish end with lingering dark malt character. Light palate. Not getting any sort of spice. A decent and perfectly drinkable porter nonetheless.

650ml bottle pours black in color with a small light brown head that leaves only a few spots of lacing on the glass. Aroma is roasted grains, dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is a roasted grain and coffee bitterness with a chocolate malty sweetness. Light to medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Overall, this is quite a nice porter, with a nice balance of roasted notes and chocolate. Recommended.

Almost black, with medium brown head. Bottled. The aroma has roasted malt, dark chocolate and coffee. The taste is strong we with bitterness and coffee flavors. There is also some fruits and nuts present, with a bit of sourness. The finish is sweet rather than bitter, which i like.
