COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our flagship beer. Medium body, beautiful golden colour, good mouth feel and a refreshing hop finish. We use six selected malts and five different kinds of premium hops. This recipe is secret, but the Pale Ale is very tasty and hoppy.

341 mL bottle. Pours a honey-gold, with a slight bubbly head. Sweet honey and malt aroma. Bitter malt and honey, with a touch of hop. Very nice oaky finish. I actually didn’t enjoy the first one I had, but as I worked through the 6-pack, this stuff tasted better and better. Great beer.

From the cask at the Beerlicious festival in Toronto. A nice fuggles hop aroma, slightly fruity. Medium rich malt flavor with pretty decent hops all around. Nice enough.

On tap at Bow. Very good pale ale. Great mouth feel. Could be a little stronger. Could use more hops and malt. Still a very good session beer.

Draught @ Only. Clear pale golden with off-white head and lacing. Caramel malts, some diacetyls, light honey, with earthy hops in background. Soft carbonation, light body. Reasonably hoppy in the aftertaste. A nice refreshing crispness and finishes well with a hint of orange.

341ml bottle. Clear bubbly dark golden with foamy white head that coats glass and sticks around. Decent hoppy aroma. Surprisingly tasty, dry crisp earthy pine and bread, not too bitter. Great maintenance ale for a hot summer day. Nice clean aftertaste.

Copper orange pour with a clingly lacey head. Spicey scent. Nice refreshing warm taste. A good bit of hops but not overpowering, some some Pale Ales. Easy to drink. Overall I am impressed by the Black Oaks I have tried.

Bottles. Pours a golden orange, with medium-to-low carboantion and very little head. Aroma is dominated by pine and grapefuit, but with notes of cotton candy and grain. Quite nice. Flavour is a little two dimentional, with only bready sweetness and a lingering bitterness present, but well balanced. Medium bodied. Would make a nice session beer.

Bottle thanks to matt7215. Pours a clear golden hue with a good sized white head. The aroma is pure wheat, honey and a touch or caramel, like a nice breakfast. The taste is very sweet; mostly honey and some caramel, a touch of hops, and grain. Very nice. Easy to drink and enjoyable.

Bottle trade from Jerc. Pours a clear gold with a thinner white head. Mild sweeter aroma. Crisp and relatively refreshing, and a little bit of bitterness. Not bad, but not amazing either.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2008 cask draught. A little disappointed with this as a cask offering. I’ve had the regular draught and bottle, might add them to this score in the future. Kind of amber in colour. Slight bit of bitter fruity aroma. Taste was a mild hop with as light surprising fruit taste. Drinkable for sure. (regular draft is slightly better)
