Nov 15, 2003 A relatively snappy pale. Golden in color with tiny bubbles and a bit of light floaties. Decent grassy hop flavor with a nice twinge of sweetness. Medium bodied and quaffable. Thanks to Jeremy for the local trade.

Sep 3, 2007 Bottle, at RBESG 2007 in Glasgow, Grand Tasting. Deep golden colour. Moderate hops in the aroma. Relatively hoppy flavour.

Apr 10, 2006 Bottle: Poured a clear golden color ale with a medium head with average retention. Citrus hops are clearly present and enjoyable in the aroma. Taste of semi-sweet malt with a citrusy finish. Body is on par for the style. Good for the style without being exceptional in anyway.

Jun 13, 2004 Decent hop nose. Light copper with white head that recedes to cover. Carbonation looks good. Some lace. Bitterness balances nicely with fresh malt flavour. Citrus-lemon undertones. Body is medium. Slightly syruppy. Could perhaps use higher carbonation. Simple, clean and well-brewed, this is an enjoyable, straight ahead version of a pale ale though by it’s well-balanced restraint, it seems more like an English Pale Ale regardless of American ingredients. Jul 20, 2008 Copper orange pour with a clingly lacey head. Spicey scent. Nice refreshing warm taste. A good bit of hops but not overpowering, some some Pale Ales. Easy to drink. Overall I am impressed by the Black Oaks I have tried.

Nov 13, 2007 Medium hoppy aroma, notes of citrus, and slight pine. Touch of malt, btut mostly hops in the flavour. A good APA, but Mill Street Tankhouse is still your best bet for an APA in Ontario.

Feb 6, 2009 On tap. I can’t believe I haven’t rated this before!! App: golden with no visible carbonation and a tiny white head. Aroma: sugar and grass with hops and malt. Flavour: bitter and grassy a hint of lime and malt, not bad.
