3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 jerc (5580) - Toronto, - SEP 26, 2010
2010-09-25. Lightly hazy golden orange body, small white head. Flavour is sweet with odd fruity character that I assume is the papaya, light bitterness. 6+ Sweet fruity aroma, touch of tropical fruit notes. Smooth average palate is a touch dilute at times. Decent, others in our group loved it but I didn’t care for the fruit character. I have never had a papaya so who knows... Tap at Cest What, Toronto

[3393-20100925] Cask. Meaty sandwich bread aroma. Hazy, pale orange body with a quick foamy off-white bubbly head. Mild fruity grains flavour. Medium body. Underwhelming, though a creative concept.

2010-09-25 at Cest What 2010 Fall Festival of Beers, day 2. Cask. Important note about this beer, the cask was MASSIVELY abused by the staff, and only they only let it settle for about 10 minutes before beginning to pour - sigh. Massively murky orange (with a lot of dark floaties) and just a wisp of off-white head (3-). Not all that much aroma - like a somewhat "green fruit" version of the normal Black Oak Pale - average malt, some grassy bitterness, crisp and inoffensive (6+). The green (unripe) fruit character really comes through, even to a noticeable acidity, and it balances nicely against the base light sweetish pale ale - and no alcohol to speak of. Thick, still moutfheel, moderately acidic, quick-finishing, with a dry acidic aftertaste - pleasant enough but I sure wish it had been allowed to settle and carbonate!

Cask at Cest What – 22nd Festival
Aroma Fruity-hop blend up nose. New aroma to me that might be due of Papaya use. 6+
Appearance amber brew (with visible fruit sediment) with porous rocky top.
Flavor and Palate : mellow bodied. soft with fruity sides. Mid more of bitter side. Quiet easy going and refreshing brew. Light clean finish.

C’est What Fall Festival 2010, significantly hopped cask. Light colour, yellowish tinge. Subtle papaya flavours. Faint aromas. Medium mouthfeel. Reasonable but not overally drinkable.
