[3734-20110514] Cask. Lightly oaked toasted grains aroma. Slightly hazy, bright red body with a medium-lasting bubbly head. Woody vanilla hints with some muted bitter leaf hops in the flavour. Medium body. Nice hints of wood and something booster in the background. (7/3/7/3/14) 3.4

Cask at Volo, "3rd Annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge". Pours ruby-amber with a small frothy off-white head. Nice aroma, hoppy and fruity. Flavour is sweet, fruity and hoppy with a long bitter finish. Average to medium bodied. I quite liked it, well done.

3rd annual Ontario Cask IPA Challenge tasted blind. Deep amber pour. Hoppy and fruity with a lot of sweet citrus. Crystal malt sort of sweetness with more caramel character than the others in this flight. A little bit of husky/cocoa like flavour. Sweet and less hop forward. OK.

2011-05-13. Brown body with a tiny frothy tan head. 3+ Interesting aroma, yeasty notes, sort of a grainy character, almost woodlike or perhaps rye? (Tasted blind, apparently I kinda sorta know what rye smells like) Flavour is similar, yeasty over layer, modest grainy character, modest bitterness throughout seems not so bitter in the taste but lingers into the aftertaste. 7+ Smooth average plus palate is under carbonated. Pretty enjoyable, I suspect I would prefer this on draft as it would benefit from some carbonation and having a bit of the yeasty character drop out of it. Tasty either way. Volo IPA Cask Challenge
