[4550-20120622] Cask. Fresh citrusy herb aroma is really familiar but I can’t place it. Slightly hazy, dark brown amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Citrus orange peel continues in the flavour but in a smooth buttery manner. Medium body is quite creamy. Quite nice and drinkable. (7/3/7/4/14) 3.5

DCask at C’est What Summer Festival of Craft Breweries, June 22. Pours a murky copper-brown with a small diminishing off-white head. Slightly mild aroma of sweet malt, a hint of alcohol and lots of fruit. Fruity flavour along with caramel malt and an average bitter finish. Alcohol is totally hidden in the flavour. Average to medium bodied. Pretty good.

On cask at C’est What Summer Festival Of Craft Breweries. Pours a fairly dark brown with a hint of orange and a small light tan head. Aroma is fruity, lightly roasty and caramelly. Flavour is has fruity notes, toasty grains, caramel and treacle. Alcohol really doesn’t come through. Interesting.

2012-06-20. Very dark brown-black body with a small beige head. 3+ Flavour is interesting, very sweet malty base, lots of fruity overtones, sort of herbal licorice like notes, it sends you on an interesting progression through a pleasant melange of flavours. 7+ Sweet herbal aroma, very sweet malty base has notes of molasses, very light grainy touches in the background. 7+ Very smooth average plus bodied palate has soft carbonation and is pretty good for a cask but feels a touch light for this beer. Interesting, it is full flavoured enough that its a bit heavy on such a hot day but it is rather good. On cask at ’Ken’s Still Bitter’ Event, Black Oak Brewing, Toronto.
