Tap at Volo. Pours a nice hazy light gold with a big white head. Aroma is on the orange zest cide and citrusy, but not overwhellmingly so- more of a thiriez citrsu than a dupont dry spicy character- some phenols earth and yeast but all light- seemed very clean. Flavor is doughy, good fresh pils malt, on the citrusy side againw ith orange zest, and even some valencia orange juice hints, yeasty with a lemon spritz in the end - light phenols hints of vanilla dn avery clean fairly dry finish. This was pretty solid actually.

Yellow with thick white head that thins quickly. Yeasty aroma. Citrus yeasty wheat taste. Easy drinking for hot summer days.

On tap at the Beer Bistro - Toronto, Ontario. Pours a cloudy middle golden-orange, with a nice white foamy head. Interesting marmalade-like nose. Cooked orange rind. A bit of alcohol and some yeast. But, lots of marmalade. Flavor is coarser. Unique and yeast-inflected. Dry. There’s some wet, moldy malt character that comes through that I don’t enjoy. Also, some phenolic bitterness that gets a little heavy. Alright.

341mL bottle from Tupalev, thanks for picking this one up Jeff. Pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. The aroma is very nice, sharp spices mixed with sweet malts and the kind of yeastyness I would expect from a saion, a touch of musty dankness, as well as some banana and citrus esters. Very inviting. Flavour has some subtle funk upfront met with dry yeastyness, fruity esters and sweet malts finishing it out. Very light and refreshing, like a German Hefe with some funk to it. Grainy sweetness in the aftertaste, not unlike Muskoka’s new canned Hefe. It works out quite well and hits the spot perfectly on a hot summer evening. I wish I could buy this regularly!

Bottle, fresh from the brewery. A slightly hazy golden orange ale. This has a bubbly off white head, half an inch thick. Lacing is moderate. It is very aromatic: theres lots of orange, lemon, strawberry, clove, orange zest, pepper, honey, coriander. Mouthfeel is medium, spritzy. Flavour is quite spicy with plenty of slightly bitter orange zest, lemon, coriander, honey, clove. This was a birthday gift from pfriesen: thanks Peter.

Re-rate as I was most definitely not served this in Rhino. Appearance: Amber orange almost a haze to it, some visible carbonation and a nice white head. Aroma: Lovely earthy/farm notes, like a barn, hops, ’salt’, lemon. Flavour: Spicy initially with an enjoyable carbonation bite, malty with a good amount of hops. Very sessionable, very summer. Very enjoyable. Great work Ken and Co!
