Pours amber with next to no head. Nose of hops, honey and roasted malts. Bitter hops, with the same in the aftertaste, honey flavour, malts, and citrus on a long draw. Meh.

Fiche technique Style: Saison Format: 650 ml Taux d?alcool: 4,5%

Makes for an ok witbier. Pours orange/straw with limited head and very little lacing. Nose is yeast and orange. Flavours of yeast, orange peel, some light cereal. floral. Taste is light sweet and light/medium bitter. Medium body with lively carbonation and a pretty dry finish.

probstblueribbon (3072) - Nepean, Ontario, CANADA - JUL 3, 2014
Bomber from LCBO, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear orange-amber with a decent, frail white head. Aroma: Floral, earthy coriander, light citrus, wheat/bread/yeast, dusty, more Wit than Saison. Palate: Medium-ish body, fairly full carbonation. Flav.: Dusty, floral, wheat, bread dough and yeast, earthy coriander, light citrus, still Wit more than Saison; dry with mild bitterness and a dusty, floral, coriander, yeast finish.

Fairly drinkable. Misses the mark for style by quite a bit.

Alpha10 (363) - Ontario, CANADA - JUN 17, 2014
2014/06/17 - Pours a translucent orange/amber colour with a fizzy, off white head that quickly dissipates. Aroma is orange, biscuit, yeast, earth tones and a hint of funk. Taste follows nose; orange citrus, yeast, biscuit, mild caramel, spices and a touch of funk. Mouthfeel is thin and watery with biting carbonation and a tart, drying finish. Not very exciting. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle from the LCBO. Smell is mostly mild citrus, with some faint funk. Pleasant tast, fruity, slight farmhouse funk. A bit minty and some caramel malt coming through. Would like it better if it had more barnyard funk to it.

Clear yellow orange with a decent white head. Aroma is orange, peppercorns, hint of white wine. Medium-light bodied, slightly fruity on the palate with a crisp dry finish. Taste is orange zest, spicy Belgian yeast, hint of dry white wine.

From a chilled 650 bomber in a Leffe chalice A> Light wheat aromas, citrus, earthy and biscuits. A> golden, slightly hazy, head was not as pronounced or frothy as expected. T> slightly spiced, light sweetness, a hint of sour finish. P> medium body, fizzy with a lingering woody finish. O> a decent if somewhat underwhelming saison. Easily drinkable but was hoping for something more lively. Would recommend to those newly trying the style.

On tap at The Round Venue in Kensington Market, Toronto. Poured straw yellow with thin white head. Faint somewhat sour aroma. Sharp somewhat thin palette and considerable carbonation. Sour, lightly citrus taste with bitter finish. Not happy with this.

Late summer pour on patio at Rhino. Not my favourite Black Oak offering. I get fresh cut wood, spring flowers & old tea bags on the tongue.
