rlgk (3377), Vårgårda, Sweden Oct 4, 2007 (Stockholm Beer Festival 2007) Bottle. Hazy yellow color, offwhite head. Fruity, citric aroma, orange, pear and pine apple notes. Hoppy, citric flavor with grassy notes. oh6gdx (8802), Vasa, Finland Sep 29, 2007 Bottled@SBWF2007. Hazy orange colour, small white head. Citrusfruits in nose along with some earth and malts. Also some slight hayish notes. Flavour is the same. Not very much Belgian saisonlike notes... TBone (6677), Pori, Finland Sep 29, 2007 Bottled@SBWF 2007
Very hazy orange color, small white head. Grapefruity nose. Fruity, a bit sourish grapefruit flavor, yeasty. American-style saison. omhper (12154), Stockholm, Sweden Sep 22, 2007 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival. Hazy pale orange. Aroma of orange with menthe and yeast. Medium sweet with rounded spritzy mouthfeel. Notes of papery malt and peppery alcohol. Low bitterness. Good flavourwise, but lacks a bit of depth. beergut111 (210), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 29, 2007 On tap at Victory, Very refreshing beer with a wheaty/orange taste. I love how all black oak beers have a very unique taste to them. chainman (103), Ontario, Canada Jul 25, 2007 Updated: Aug 9, 2007Pours cloudy orange with a creamy white head...aroma is wheat and yeast, hints of peach and orange. Mouthfeel is smooth and soft. Taste is, not surprisingly, wheaty and yeasty, again with peach and orange undertones. Aftertaste of orange peel and some spice. After-AFTER taste of peaches when I exhale - very nice! I’m unfamiliar with the Saison style, and the only thing I’ve had previously that remind me of this are Unibroue’s Blanche de Chambly and Ephemere. This is a very nice novelty beer, not something I could see having all too often, but still a very well made drink that goes great with hot weather! I’ve yet to be let down by this great brewer! DerWeg (748), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jul 19, 2007 Delicious on Draught at VICTORY CAFE TORONTO - very soft & wheaty, fruity aroma, not too much funk or sting (easy drinking Saison), nicely assertive hop finish that is not brassy. If anything it could have less perfect balance and more aggressive character but it is a very accessible saison for those who would find the Dupont a bit overwhelmingly funky. Glouglouburp (2778), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 19, 2007 Partly cloudy golden body with a small white head. Perfumy aroma. Perfume makes it way to the taste too. Very perfumy indeed. Very floral too. An overall impression of drinking flowers juice. Feels like uncontrolled dry-hopping. Bready malts (white-bread dough) and faint orange skin flavour. Drinkable as a thirst quencher but as this attempt at a Belgian Saison as convincing as a Chuck Norris dramatic scene.
