Slacks (357), Bolton, Ontario, Canada Aug 12, 2006 Draught @ TFOB: Pours a beautiful cloudy orange with a thick white head. Great aromatics of pepper and spice, yeast, hops, and some sweet citrus. Taste surprised me, perhaps expecting far less hops than I got. You’ll find that peppery yeast as that first sip rolls over your tongue, but it doesn’t take long for the patented Black Oak "Hop Bomb" to snag you on the way down. It fit well, here, though, separating it from other wheat beers I’ve sampled in the past.
Raphael__N (162), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Jun 15, 2008 Bottle at Volo. Poured an orange hue. Complex aroma and palate. Mouthfeel was average with hits of spices: coriander, cumin, cloves and even a bit of cardamom, accompanied by citrus. Aroma followed a similar profile minus the cardamom. This was a surprisingly complex beer, and tasted quite good. Didn’t quite win me over though. Ungstrup (11378), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 4, 2008 Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2007. An unclear orange beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet spicy - among them coriander, but also a lot of others that I can’t put a name to. Pours a nice unfiltered copper colour. A pleasent tan head tops it off. It smells sweet and spicy, similar to a weiss but with a bit more kick. It is very delicious and spicy. A nice local beer combining belgian ale and wheat beer features to make a great beverage. sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jan 1, 2008 Bottle thanks to my festivus master: Pours a hazy gold with a white creamy head. Aroma, floral and perfumey notes, some spices, honey. Flavor, some spices, pepper and cloves, lightly sweet malts, bready, spicy and herbal hops on the finish, perfumey throughout, and on the dry side. Very interesting. Miksu (1291), Jyväskylä, Finland Jan 1, 2008 0.34 l bottle. Hazy golden-copper color with creamy head. Very honeyish and perfumed aroma with chamomile and thyme. Sweetish, malty, honeyish and spicy flavor with clove, pepper, coriander and some herbal hops.
