Bottle courtesy of Hogtownharry: Poured a deep golden orange color ale with a big foamy head with good retention and lacing. Aroma of funky east with some orange and other spices. Taste is dry with some floral malt and a long yeasty finish with layer of complexity. Body is a bit light but it doesn’t hurt the beer too much overall. I got too admit that I wasn’t expecting so much from this one and was pleasantly surprised.

From notes: a slightly hazy ochre colour with a slight head and some lacing. Aroma is yeasty and spices with a slight vegatal note. Flavour is malt with vegetal notes and spices. Medium body, soft carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPad

Thanks to Kyle for the bottle. Pours a slightly hazy golden orange with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Smell is pretty nice, a bit of citrus and a definite sourness note, could be stronger. Palate is pretty much spot on with a slightly heavy feel on the tongue with some good and very fine carbonation. Taste is a bit weak, and more in line with an IPA than a Saison. Some definite hops and a bit of sourness with a bitter aftertaste. Needs more sour, still quite drinkable though, I’ll probably reach for this on hot summer days.

2 or 3 oz sample provided, it pours a golden colour, pretty clear, would like more of cloudy unfiltered look for a saison, the smell is not very spicy of anything, the flavour is very yeasty but it doesnt taste like a belgian yeasty, if I had to guess they used nottingham yeast or something very similar. I want more of a belgian taste out a saison, I would try again, but I wasnt a fan the first time, it reminded me of this homebrew where we used nottingham thats why I say nottingham and it tasted similar but that beer was a pale ale. So I would say expect more of a pale ale taste then saison, in my opinion

I tried this beer on June 24, 2011 at "The Beerbistro" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a hazy golden orange colour with a 1" creamy white head. The aroma was musk, earth, and grains. The mouthfeel was weak bodied with mild carbonation. The flavour was slightly sweet, earthy, a little spice, and grass.

My rating for this beer seems to be an outlier, by far. Nonetheless, I had this at St. Veronous in Peterborough, Ontario, when it was featured as the "guest beer". I had ernestly meant to spend the week-end drinking my way through St. Veronous’ massive collection of Belgians, when this brew stopped me in my tracks. I spent four sessions at the establishment and couldn’t resist having this again and again. Aroma: 5/5. Simply fantastic! Citrus, honey, and long-forgotten teen-age girlfriends. Apperance: decently thick head that only abates after a few minutes to leave a lovely light covering and decent ring. Taste: huge corriander and a little citrus. Sweeter than expected, but wholly welcome. Good malt backing, but fruit, flowers, spice and honey are the stars. Supremely drinkable as any session should. Last drops go down like an epic greek tragedy...
