3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 gilvanblight (678) - Windsor, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 9, 2013
Slightly hazy orange golden pour. Clingy head. Grassy sweet hoppy scent. Yep tastes like a good IPA. has that really overpowering hops taste. This one doesn’t leave you feeling dry at the end though. Not bad for a beer in a style I don’t really like.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 neuromatt (858) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - FEB 23, 2013
341 mL bottle served in a stem glass at a tasting at Dan’s. Pours clear golden with a small, off-white head that fades to a thin cover and leaves a minimal amount of lace. On the nose, there are notes of resinous hops and spice, along with biscuity malts and a touch of earth. The flavour is medium dry with biscuity malts and fairly intense bitter hops. The finish is long and intensely bitter. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a decent double IPA, but it felt like it was missing something. The hops are a little too dominant and too resinous; it might improve with just a little more assertiveness from the malts. 2012-08-11
4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20 AGAquino (654) - San Juan, PUERTO RICO - NOV 18, 2012
From notes. On cask. Pours slightly cloudy orange with a nice foamy off-white head. Aroma of tropical fruit, pine and floral bitters; some alcohol as well. Flavour is very bitter; noticeable citrus, tangerines and resin, with a sweet malt backbone. Nice cask mouthfeel, slightly astringent, strong alcohol, but quite balanced.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Crockett (960) - Steelback County, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 24, 2012
Amber Gold with a Little fluffy white head. Nose of pine, citrus, and peach. Opens up sweet and with resiny hops. Tea, toasted bready malts, good balance. Finish is clean. Very solid IIPA.
4.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20 fiulijn (12179) - Malmö, DENMARK - OCT 21, 2012
Bottle at C’est What, Toronto Hazy red-amber color; small head. Nice aroma of caramel and hops, a bit sweaty. Good toffee flavor; the mouthfeel is lean, no crystal; strong bitterness, providing nice orangey resins, and a tea final. Long end. Very good, powerful but easy to drink.

I wasn’t expecting to like this bitter beer, but it’s refreshing and very enjoyable. Grapefruit.

Thanks to Mike for this! Dark amber/iced tea colour with creamy white head. Aroma is sweet maple syrup, pine, vanilla and grapefruit. Taste is initially sweet and malty with a nice bitter finish. A great beverage. One of Canada’s best.
4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 HeistAlmighty (818) - Saint John, New Brunswick, CANADA - JUL 25, 2012
341ml bottle, XI on the label. Not much head but it was thick, sticky and dense. Orange amber hazy colour. Strong, fresh grapefruit hops aroma and some caramel malt, hints of pine and biscuit. Intense hops in the favour, pine and lots of earth on the finish. Overall, a rather complex DIPA. Excellent stuff.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 stuckinprague (43) - - JUL 21, 2012
Pours golden/orange with a head that lingers well into the beer. Aroma is spicy and piney with a hint of citrus. Taste is a initial split second bite of hops, followed by a rich malty sweetness which tails off into a medium to heavy bitterness with a hint of alcohol. The taste has a great evolution in the mouth and gives a fair amount of unami. Medium to full bodied beer with a creamy palate. 10 bitter years is a rich and satisfying beer which I thoroughly enjoyed. Bought the beer right at the brewery, with a extra six pack to cellar for a few months. Get em before there gone!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Oakes (10941) - Savusavu, FIJI ISLANDS - JUL 4, 2012
Thanks, Doug! Hazy orangey-amber. The aroma is a chewy, oxidized hop. I think as an XI this is from 2011, so it’s been aged a bit. The palate is actually a bit light and soft, though with some chewy crystal and oxidized hop character. There’s a touch of alcohol in the finish. Fits the style.
