Bottle sample at a tasting. Thanks DSG for sharing it. Clear orange amber with a nice head. Splendid hoppy aroma with tropical fruits in the nose. Sweet with mango, apricot and piney flavors, some caramel malts, crispy bitterness, well balanced hops driven flavors. Medium-bodied, fizzy and creamy. Excellent.

Bottle shared at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Tal Levi for this bottle! Nice shiny clear deep golden to amber with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, a bit of caramel and lots of hops with zesty tropical fruits and pine. Flavor has some chewy malt with some sweetness and a bit of caramel, fruity and piney hops and a big bitter finish. Rounded mouthfeel. Really good and very well-made.

Hazy amber pour with an off white head. Nose is citrus, floral with a touch of pine. Big hoppy citrus floral flavor that goes on; ends with a nice bitter aftertaste.

Undated 650 ml bottle XIII from the LCBO. Pours out brown-orange with off-white head. Nose is complex, with sweet roasted malt, pine, some oak notes. Big malt backbone on the taste, sweet caramel, roasted malt, really delicious. Balanced by a pretty assertive bitterness. I’m not getting much fruitiness here. I’m thinking the hops may have faded in this bottle, based on some of the other reviews here. Please date your bottles!

UPDATED: OCT 4, 2015 A big fan of this one! Copper gold in colour with pine, grapefruit and floral elements to the nose. Pine resin and citrus rind hops get your immediate attention, but they are ably balanced by the presence of substantial bready malt and burnt caramel aspects. The mouth feel is very rich which helps moderate the slightly astringent bitter aftertaste. This bites like a Stone product! Very unusual magnitude to this Double IPA for an Ontario micro beer. Well done! (postScript Oct. 2015). This new batch has a less vibrant taste profile, with both the hops and the malt greatly moderated.
