650mL bottle, sent from wilco (thanks a lot, Mike), pours a hazy gold / copper with a small white head. Nose brings out lots of earthy hops, some pine, and a crackery malt backing - very earthy smelling. Flavour is dominated by wonderfully dry earthy hops, with subtler notes of grass, a some pine cones, and thin malt backbone that provides support without contributing much to the flavour profile. Super dry and earthy, with a highly drinkable character. Leaves a low-to-moderate astringency. A kickass IIPA from Ontario - whoída thunk it.

Single from the LCBO with a painted label on bottle, written 10 Bitter Years (with numbers). Pours a clean amber colour with a creamy-frothy warm cap that stays very, very long and gives out thick, full foamy lace. Aromas of roasted malt, grass, pine and citrus hops. The mouthfeel is really smooth. Hard to feel the alcohol. No burning at all, just basically wet with a little dryness in the finish. Fruity malts with lots of citrus notes. This Impy IPA goes down very easily. Nothing too crazy, but quite smooth.

On tap at Wvrst. Pours black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasty malt, coffee, chocolate, hops. Taste is quite sweet up front, with toasted malty notes, finishing up with a balancing hop bitterness. Medium-heavy body makes this taste more like a hoppy strong stout than a black IPA to me. Really nice.

sudomorph (711) - Barrie, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 4, 2013
650ml bottle. Pours a translucent orange/ruby colour with an off-white, two finger head that thins but lingers. Nice lacing clings to the glass. Aroma is big and complex. A touch floral with pine, yeast, citrus, and almost a hint of chocolate. Taste is complex. Bitter but very well balanced with some spice and a long dry finish. Medium-full body with a medium carbonation. Slightly creamy texture but still light in the mouth. Very nice and well worth trying. Has hints of a Belgian strong with a big helping of hops. Will buy again!!!

Pours clear amber with a nice amber head with lots of lacing. Very hop forward aroma. Lemon grass, slight pine, and toasted wheat. Nice dry finish with good bitter character. Pretty easy for an 8%.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2014 Re-rate 2014. Bottle. Iíve no idea what i was referring to in my original write up but Iím guessing I had my beers mixed up while sampling. Unless, the one I had was a one-off or something? Anyway, itís any amber colour with a slightly toasty caramel aroma. Itís dry yet lovely and juicy with orange and pine, lemon and grapefruit. Very well balanced too. Good! July 2013. Keg at barhop. Amber colour. Not a huge aroma - malty and a bit of smokiness. The flavour is fruity and a bit herby but its the oak barrel that come through most with a harsh bitterness. Itís ok but just not my cup of tea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours copper coloured with brownish highlights; the head is bone coloured and foamy. The aroma has notes of: grapefruit, pine, biscuit, and alcohol. The taste is heavy bitter that finishes with some astringency; all of the notes from the aroma are present in the taste. The palate is medium bodied, slick, has medium carbonation, and a long bitter finish. Overall, the bitterness of this beer is harsh and unbalanced, and overshadows the fruitiness of the hops.

Pours a lovely dusty copper, with a frothy white head. Aroma is of fresh cut grass, pine and citrus hop notes. Tasting notes include a rich citrus punch of mango, and grapefruit. Some pine bitterness laced in there, with a smooth and slightly bitter finish. This is a very tasty IPA, and while it may not be a hop bomb that some crave. It is still a wonderful example of the style!

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2013 Purchased at LCBO in a 650ml nice new bottle. The beer was much better then I thought it would be. I was just thinking it might be a decent Imperial IPA, but it was much better then just decent. Very good beer with a lot of taste. So far this is my personal best IPA beer I have tasted that is made in Canada.

Boutip (4868) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 5, 2013
Bottle: Poured a dark amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney hops is quite dominant with some light spicy notes (some rye malt maybe). Taste is also dominated by powerful citrus and piney notes with some bitterness with light spicy notes and a dry malt backbone. Body is average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed and very enjoyable. Glad they kept making this anniversary beer.
