UPDATED: JUL 7, 2014 Re-rate 2014. Bottle. Iíve no idea what i was referring to in my original write up but Iím guessing I had my beers mixed up while sampling. Unless, the one I had was a one-off or something? Anyway, itís any amber colour with a slightly toasty caramel aroma. Itís dry yet lovely and juicy with orange and pine, lemon and grapefruit. Very well balanced too. Good! July 2013. Keg at barhop. Amber colour. Not a huge aroma - malty and a bit of smokiness. The flavour is fruity and a bit herby but its the oak barrel that come through most with a harsh bitterness. Itís ok but just not my cup of tea. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

It pours copper coloured with brownish highlights; the head is bone coloured and foamy. The aroma has notes of: grapefruit, pine, biscuit, and alcohol. The taste is heavy bitter that finishes with some astringency; all of the notes from the aroma are present in the taste. The palate is medium bodied, slick, has medium carbonation, and a long bitter finish. Overall, the bitterness of this beer is harsh and unbalanced, and overshadows the fruitiness of the hops.

Pours a lovely dusty copper, with a frothy white head. Aroma is of fresh cut grass, pine and citrus hop notes. Tasting notes include a rich citrus punch of mango, and grapefruit. Some pine bitterness laced in there, with a smooth and slightly bitter finish. This is a very tasty IPA, and while it may not be a hop bomb that some crave. It is still a wonderful example of the style!

UPDATED: JUL 11, 2013 Purchased at LCBO in a 650ml nice new bottle. The beer was much better then I thought it would be. I was just thinking it might be a decent Imperial IPA, but it was much better then just decent. Very good beer with a lot of taste. So far this is my personal best IPA beer I have tasted that is made in Canada.

Bottle: Poured a dark amber color ale with a medium size foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of citrus and piney hops is quite dominant with some light spicy notes (some rye malt maybe). Taste is also dominated by powerful citrus and piney notes with some bitterness with light spicy notes and a dry malt backbone. Body is average for style with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed and very enjoyable. Glad they kept making this anniversary beer.

Great colour and strong head. Great toasty aroma. Solid bitters come through from start but the finish is softer with the toasted malt appearing at the very end. -- rated via 'Find A Beer' for Blackberry 10

Bottle from the LCBO. Pours a hazy amber with minimal off-white head. Aroma is pine and citrus. Nice bit of caramel to balance the floral hops. Nice bitter start middle and end but not overpowering. It has a medium oily mouth with average carbonation. I had almost no expectations for this bottle but was pleasantly surprised.

2013/06/18 - Pours a clear dark copper color with a thick, foamy, off white head that lingers and laces nicely. Aroma is grapefruit/citrus, piney hops and slight caramel. Taste is pine resin and caramel upfront with a bitter, hoppy and tart citrus aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation and an astringent finish. High alcohol goes undetected in this well executed DIPA, however a slightly higher malt profile would have balanced the beer a little better. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

650 ml bottle, 8% a/v Pours a rich coppery/gold color with a nice tan head. Aromas of grapefruit, grass and resin hops, some caramel malt as well. Taste is also rather hoppy, particularly the aftertaste but not at all unbalanced. You cannot taste that this is an 8% beer at all as it is mellow and balanced to perfection! The palate is rich and smooth, with just enough carbonation. Very good job black oak. Heres to another 10 bitter years!

Citrus, pine, biscuity and toasty malts in the aroma. The malt plays a big role in giving this one itís aroma, smells delicious. Dark copper color, semi-long lasting fizzy head. Earthy, piney hops come through upfront, with a hint of juicyness and a herbal/sweet finish. A bit of bitterness lingers on the tongue, but is definately not overpowering. Medium bodied and medium carbonation. This one is delicious & very unique. Would buy many times again.
