mabel (1673), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 21, 2007 [534-20070818] Cask @ BeerBistro (Golden Taps, Toronto, ON). Tangerine citrus fruit and orange seeds aroma. Hazy, orange brown body with some bubbles instead of head. Like the pale ale with some extra citrus hops, has a light wheat background and nice aftertaste. Medium body, light bitterness. Well-blended and surprisingly my second queenish encounter of the week -- the first wore a frilly skirt and gaily swing danced around some Montreal nightclubs, while this second one golden tapped its way home with the festival award... Seems this naughty bitter was the better toddy, boys. Overheard at a nearby table: "This is the best tranny I’ve ever tasted!"

Appearance :Bright hazy amber, porous rocky top.
Nose :Tropical fruits , citrus , grapefruit , sweet honey on golden grain.6+ Flavour/Palate: Soft character with weak like base that was neatly paired with citric touches. Some of session character, some of wheat and pale ale. Neat crossover brew.

Aroma of pineapple,malt,
hazy golden, no head. Tastes is subtle pineapple, nectarines?, light flourish of some hops. Light bodied, nice mouthfeel, bitter too. Very unique offering! mds (2111), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 26, 2007 Cask. Murky yellow-orange with a bubbly white ring of head. Smells fresh and leafy with lots of pineapple along with apricot and orange zest. Quite dry, bready in the middle, zesty orange flavouring...Refreshing and tasty. This was voted best of fest, and it was a toss-up for me whether this or the Scotch-Irish smoked beer; Poured a murky pale orange-yellow, with a small bubbly off-white head - looked great, couldn’t figure out what this mystery beer was, but if it’s a hefe, it looks great. Up-front aroma was of tart tropical fruits, almost overripe and sour, the sourness deepened as it warmed - light candy malt and plenty of green herbal hops and spice. The taste really caught me off guard - unexpectedly bitter over the base of sweet tart fruity malt, hints of licorice and a nice acidity to it. Thick yet light body (I know, I know), acidic, mild carbonation, a syrupy, overripe fruit linger .... an very nice malt/spice concoction that while not exactly balanced, was fresh and packed a punch, and quite a taste/aroma discontinuity to it. blankboy (2625), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Cask at 2007 Golden Tap Awards, beerbistro. Pours a hazy orange with a spare diminishing white head. Nice aroma with lots of hops and fruit. Flavour’s oh so easy to drink! Lots of hops and fruit all well balanced -- very simple but very enjoyable. Average bodied. Great stuff, i could easily have pint after pint of this.
