Aroma is malts, chocolate, coffee and nice notes of buttery sweet vanilla. Flavour follows the aroma quite nicely. Slightly bitter aftertaste. Very nice brew.

November 11, 2011 - gravity cask at the brewery. Ruby-black with a smallish bubbly/frothy light brown head. Smells like regular Nutcracker with some vanilla extract - spicy roast, cinnamon, sweet cereal and light alcohol. Taste follows - quite nutty, some coffee and oak - not as much vanilla; simple, maybe a little thin.

Cask at the brewery. Nov. 11, 2011. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a small lasting bubbly light-brown head. Sweet aroma with lots of vanilla first and foremost followed by milk chocolate and a hint of coffee. Lots of chocolate in the flavour along with light roasted malt, vanilla, a hint of coffee and an average bitter finish. Average bodied. Very nice stuff, I will be having several of these tonight.

2011-11-11. Black body with a frothy tan head. 3+ Fairly strong vanilla character in the flavour, moderate dark malt, light roast, hints of cinnamon in the background. 7+ Sweet aroma of vanilla beans. 7+ Average plus palate.
Vanilla is fairly strong and dominates at first, but it seems to moderate itself in additional samples. Nice, enjoyable I went back for a couple. Cask at the brewery
