1.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20
Better than some but worse than most. As far as stouts go, nothing impressive. However, given that it’s a Cambodian beer....it’s a nice change from the typical, light, tasteless beers

Interesting nuttiness. Great flavor and nice to drink on ruins overlooking an ancient kings swimming pool..

Can. Pours dark dark brown with a small head. Aroma of roasted malt, with bad instant coffee, metallic molasses notes. Flavor of roasted malt, cheap cocoa, molasses with a dry, bitter finish.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Picked up at an off-license in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Midnight brown and hazy in the shallows. Creamy ring upon the meniscus is tannish and holds. Aroma is of heavy roasted malts, coffee bean, topsoil, peat and mulch with hints of burnt peanut husk and oak. Massive molasses hit on the palate saw my tongue squirm and squander. Body is medium-light with soft carbonation. Length is rusty nails and a touch of blood tannic. Sends shivers down the spine. Saving grace is aniseed and roasted carob notes that linger long. Alcohol is well masked, also a positive I suppose. A hard one to enjoy. (33cL can, BB 11/08/16, 322, Phnom Penh)

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml can bought in siem real. Pours jet black with no head. Aroma is spice, twiglets, Marmite and coffee. Taste is good. Quite a thin mouth feel but very drinkable as with all these Cambodian stouts. Licorice, soy sauce, a dry finish. Nice.

Do you want to hear something funny? This is a pretty good stout. Most SE Asian beers set you up to be something watery and to be drank ice cold.
This stout is dark black, but only drank from a can so I cannot comment on the head or lacing. Roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Hint of sweet up front. Smooth, medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Medium roasty finish.

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Somehow this is a touch better than the Angkor Extra Stout brewed by the same people. I see this more often than the AES too.
