Dark brown/black in color, minimal tan head. This is a nice roasty flavored stout, typical chocolate and coffee flavors. Minimal hops. Alcohol is not noticeable in flavor. A great alternative to ABC stout (which is horrible) when in Cambodia.

330ml can bought in siem real. Pours jet black with no head. Aroma is spice, twiglets, Marmite and coffee. Taste is good. Quite a thin mouth feel but very drinkable as with all these Cambodian stouts. Licorice, soy sauce, a dry finish. Nice.

From can. Footprints bar Sihanoukville. Totally black liquid, small beige head. Roasted malt, bitter coffee, dark chocolate. Light body, little bit of sweetness and medium bitterness. Best beer yet in SE asia.

Do you want to hear something funny? This is a pretty good stout. Most SE Asian beers set you up to be something watery and to be drank ice cold.
This stout is dark black, but only drank from a can so I cannot comment on the head or lacing. Roasted malt aroma with a hint of coffee. Hint of sweet up front. Smooth, medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Medium roasty finish.

Somehow this is a touch better than the Angkor Extra Stout brewed by the same people. I see this more often than the AES too.

Lattina 33cl in un ristorante a Battambang.
Scura con schiuma evanescente.
Un po' di tostatura, corpo un po' leggero, amara sul finale.
Considerando che siamo in Cambogia non male davvero.

Roasted malts are quite apparent in the nose with some underlying grainy sweet malts. Opaque black body is topped by a decent tan head that recedes to cover with some nice lacing. Flavour is very roasty with the promised sweet undertone and plenty of nutty and earthy notes. Medium body has moderate carbonation. Drinkable for certain, but kind of unremarkable. Tulip glass. Can. Thanks, Josh!

Rather restrained. Gift from friend. Aroma is a faint but pleasant maltiness. I did not detect much hoppiness in the aroma, rather a chocolate note. More chocolate notes in the flavour, with ’n bietjie toffee. Malty finish

33cl can (8%) in Siem Reap. Pours black with a small beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel and alcohol with hints of spices and liquorice. Sweet with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Drinkable, and better than most beers from Cambodia, but a bit disappointing. (2012-05-03)
