4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 trevor211 (980) - Seattle, USA - SEP 10, 2011
On tap at Brouwer’s Hopfest 2011. Light orange pour, with a smallish, super-dense head. Mandarin and lemon citrus, and some grass on the nose. Very hop-forward. Really crisp IPA, flavor has just the right bite. Really nice -- another gem from Redmond.

Sample at Capones. Pure caramel, and pineapple pina colada. Juicy vanilla notes, and citrus flavors. Nice dry bitter finish. Amazing IPA. Wish I could have had a full glass and slowly enjoyed this.

Had this out of a bottle. Clear yellow/gold, creamy beige head. Aroma of lemon, some spices and hop, grass, pineapple, pine needles. Taste of lemon pepper, citrus, coconut, white pepper, earthy, some pine bitterness. This was a very interesting beer. I can’t wait to try it again.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours golden amber with a near white head. Whoosh! The aroma is so hoppy. Floral/resin/citrus/fruit. I think it’s all there. This must be a hop head’s dream. Med+ body. Flavor is very complex. I’d swear there was onion in this, over and above floral/resin/citrus/fruit. Onion’s a veg, right? There is some clean sweet caramel for backbone, but this is so hoppy it almost burns like capsaicin. Finish is almost cactus flavor with so much hop. My idea is that heat goes with cactus. Forget that. This is really complexly hoppy. Amazing stuff! Drinks fantastically tasty.

Bomber poured a clear gold with a lasting creamy white head. Aromas of skunk bud, lemon zest, straw, pine, grapefruit and light orange zest. Palate was medium bodied and smooth with a dry finish. Flavors of straw, skunk bud, lemon zest, rye, pine, grapefruit and orange zest with a smooth dry bitter lingering citrus finish.

On tap at Brouwer’s for Hopfest, pours a clear dirty gold with a thick foamy white head. Aroma has lots of pine, citrus hops, and light caramel. Flavour of lots of citrus hops, piney, and burnt nuts. Dry and bitter.
3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 15, 2011
Draft at brewpub. Aroma of citrus rind and loads of hops, lemony and a bit floral. Very dry and sharply bitter tasting. Has a toasty malt backing that quickly moves to bitter orange and lemon zest, finishes very resinous and dry. Good IPA, I found I liked it best with some spicy pizza.

On tap at Brouwer’s Cafe for Hopfest, pours clear golden with a white head. Aroma of dry citrusy hops, bitter orange peel with a slight malt backing. Flavour is quite zesty, with dry citrusy hops and a dry, bitter finish. Excellent IPA.
