2/2/10 on draft at the taproom. Aroma citrusy and clovey, but not as heavy on banana notes as most; more biting. Appearance is hazy straw with a fluffy white head. Flavor is sweet/sour citrusy wheat malt forward with a spicy yeasty, but not bready, finish. Mouthfeel is quite creamy, with a light spritzy carb texture and dry, grainy finish. Overall, not as agressive as many of the hefs I favor, but this makes it a bit more drinkable in a way, so no complaints.

Golden in color, hazy and thin head. Nice wheat malt lots of banana and other fruit like aromas. Flavor was strong in wheat malt with banana and clove flavors. A strong flavored wheat beer.

Nena (963) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JUN 18, 2010
Draft at the brewery. Hazy golden pour with a thick white tuft of head. Bubblegum, bready wheat, clove, and banana nose. Flavor is pretty similar, a bit more banana-ish somehow than the Sun Thief filtered version. Smooth light body, not a lot of carb to it compared to Sun Thief. Pretty decent hefe, slightly overshadowed by its fellow weizen.

Hazy hef pour with a lingering head. Sourgrass and lemon, yeasty, coming off a bit hollow. Fine but not in the league of the sun thief.

draft at the brewery. pours a deeply cloudy bright gold with a slim white rim and some loose white lacing. delectable hef nose, plenty of banana and some light cloves mixed in with some faint bready undertones. creamy medium body with soft carb...would be nice to feel some more tight bubbles and even a little bit of graininess. pleasant and refreshing banana, cream, clove, and brown bread mid palate, with a long banana finish. goodie.

On tap at the brewery. Pours cloudy yellow with minimal head. A lot of bubblegum in nose. Wheat, clove, bubblegum in the taste, but nicely balanced. Not a bad hefe.

Hazy golden with a white sheen. Sulfery, tart wheat aromas. Light/medium body. Grainy malt and tart wheat flavors with some honey sweetness. Didn’t find any spice or fruit in this.
