On tap, pours an orange color with a medium white head that leaves great lacing. Smells of floral, tropical, citrus, and pine. Tastes of all the same things in the smell. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with good carbonation. Overall this is a really tasty lighter ipa. Black Raven always makes quality stuff.

Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Super Session IPA great flavors and finish. Big hops presence with the lack of high alcohol which makes for a great day drinking more.

Bottle from Bobís -- nice to see these guys bottling! I guess 4.9% is session in Seattle.

Pours gold with a somewhat coarse head and lots of lacing. Highly tropical nose: mango, pineapple, nectarine, hints of grapefruit. Nice mellow fruity hop flavors are thirst-quenching and enjoyable while staying chill enough to go well as a thirst-quenching session beer. Mouthfeel is plenty full for the style. I like this a lot and +1 for the Talking Heads reference.

650ml bottle

Pours clear yellowish golden with a thick white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, grapefruit, lemon and spicy notes. Taste is smooth, floral and crisp malty with some fruity hoppiness and citrusy notes. Finish is bitter, crisp and floral with some fruits and citrus. Okay.

On tap @ Chuckís CD. Pours bright yellow with very thin white head. Aroma is thin pale malt and a hint of earthy slightly bitter hops. Taste is thin, rather harsh body, with heavy herbal bitter grass flavor that Iím guessing is hops but has little of their redeeming qualities. I have to admit, session IPAs are not my fave, but this just isnít very good. Overly bitter, thin bodied, with no real malt or hop goodness to redeem it. I love Black Raven, and respect the effort here, but this is a miss.

Indeed, a floral session IPA. Perhaps not as upfront as Lagunitasí Daytime session IPA, but in the same ballpark. This one may be a bit more complex. Not in your face at all. Strong flavor, and all around a great beer.

Draft at 192 Brewing in Kenmore, as a Session IPA at 4.9%. Great hop aroma. nice pale gold and white head. Fresh, malty base but good tasty NW hops. Nice tasty beer.

Draft at Coopers. Pours clear copper, white sudsy head. Aroma: pine, over-risen dough, dishwater. So doughy this one is, but maybe I need to let it warm a bit (came to me ice cold). Hmmm, now it's also a little vegetal. Not very promising. Taste: toast, biscuit, cracker. Some spruce. Lightly sweet, moderately bitter finish. Light body, crisp and easy to drink. Overall: love finding session beers, and really dig this brewery, but this one is not for me. I take that back - it's perfectly fine, provided I don't stick my nose in the glass first, but for whatever reason that's how I approach everything I drink.

If you want as much hop character and uniqueness as possible without the weight of most IPAs and 2IPAs, youíre looking for quality session IPAs, and this might just be my new favorite. As the name suggests, significant floral hop character is captured in this brew without the load-em-up style of the big hop beers. On tap in Redmond.
