3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap, pours an orange color with a medium white head that leaves great lacing. Smells of floral, tropical, citrus, and pine. Tastes of all the same things in the smell. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with good carbonation. Overall this is a really tasty lighter ipa. Black Raven always makes quality stuff.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Poured from a bomber into a tumbler on 08.15.14.
A: Flower and grapefruit.
A: See through gold/yellow.
T: Flower dominates, living up to the name. Tropical fruit and slight peach are subtle.
P: Watery, but it’s a session IPA.
O: This was a very light session IPA. There are even better, and more flavorful, session APAs than this one. It wasn’t bad, but just not flavorful enough for the style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft pour at Frankies pizza. Pours a light golden color with a foamy head. Very soft, mild floral hops aroma. Light sweet fruit front with a good balance of hops. Very gentle flavored beer, and a good one true to the style. Easy drinking. Very nice beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle: Translucent orange, fairly bright, mild carbonation, moderate head, white lacing, fairly nice too. Soft tea leaves and perhaps a little fruitiness on the nose. Not as fruity on the tongue, but a somewhat stronger tea leaf presense. Light sweetness, light bitterness, moderate body and mouthfeel. Smooth too. Nothing out of the ordinary, but a solid example.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Golden tan body, decent head. Indeed the nose is flowery with touches of rose water and baby powder and a lmild hop leafyness. Easy bitterness, and lightly flowery. More of a light APA than a session IPA. Not bad. Easy drinking, but nice flavor.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Amber in color, clear with a thin head. Super Session IPA great flavors and finish. Big hops presence with the lack of high alcohol which makes for a great day drinking more.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Bob’s -- nice to see these guys bottling! I guess 4.9% is session in Seattle.
Pours gold with a somewhat coarse head and lots of lacing. Highly tropical nose: mango, pineapple, nectarine, hints of grapefruit. Nice mellow fruity hop flavors are thirst-quenching and enjoyable while staying chill enough to go well as a thirst-quenching session beer. Mouthfeel is plenty full for the style. I like this a lot and +1 for the Talking Heads reference.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours clear yellowish golden with a thick white head. Aroma of floral hops, citrus, grapefruit, lemon and spicy notes. Taste is smooth, floral and crisp malty with some fruity hoppiness and citrusy notes. Finish is bitter, crisp and floral with some fruits and citrus. Okay.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap @ Chuck’s CD. Pours bright yellow with very thin white head. Aroma is thin pale malt and a hint of earthy slightly bitter hops. Taste is thin, rather harsh body, with heavy herbal bitter grass flavor that I’m guessing is hops but has little of their redeeming qualities. I have to admit, session IPAs are not my fave, but this just isn’t very good. Overly bitter, thin bodied, with no real malt or hop goodness to redeem it. I love Black Raven, and respect the effort here, but this is a miss.
