Commercial Description:
Ravens in the Scottish Highlands were once thought to possess the gift of second sight, the ability to see future events before they occur. If you are a fan of rich, malty ales then our raven foresees you loving this beer. This beer is built all around the malted barley with hops playing a balancing role. This beer is reddish-brown in color with a wonderful malt nose, delicious malt flavors  and a full bodied finish. This is our newest beer at the Black Raven and is due to be released in late October.

Nose is malty and sweet with dark fruit and caramel. Dark brownish pour, thin head. the flavor is also sweet and malty with dark fruit, caramel, apple, chocolate, and some earthy notes. Lingering dry/sweet finish. Definitely appley. Soft carbonation. Residual sugars present as well.

Draft at Black Raven. Pours a clear deep ruby brown with a tightly carbonated head. Sweet maltiness up front on the nose. Dark dried fruit and slight nut aroma is also present. Tight creamy medium body on the palate. Sweet and lightly peated malt with some apple flavor coming through. Servicable, but really not enough complexity and I would like more malt and peat rather than the apple sweetness. If this is like the other BR brews, I am sure they will get this dialed in and I will be there to revisit again.
