Sample at the brewpub. Pours brown with a medium thin dense tan head that dissipates slowly to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing on the glass. Sweet roasty malt and coffee in the nose. Light body with a sweet malty character and notes of mild coffee, chocolate and caramel. The finish is sweet and malty with a hint of hops in the aftertaste. Above average overall.

Brown-bodied, not much head and light carbonation. Easy biscuit nut brown nose that translated into a dry, cleanly roasty, baked biscuit body with just the slightest hint of nut. Dry finish. Solid, but not too memorable.

Draft at the pub. Lots of coffee for a porter, again Tom nails the descriptor with "Graham cracker" (Never thought to describe a beer that way, but the flavor is definitely there big time in this one). This is coffee and golden grahams for breakfast. Nice. 7/3/7/4/15
Revisit 6/26/2012, draft at Elliott bay. Splendid porter, yes a touch sweet but such lovely grain character. The golden grahams are there for certain. A delight. I’d rather more like 7/3/8/4/16=3.8. I’m going with this as a first beer of the night instead of one-of-a-flight.
