COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A totem is an entity that watches over and represents a clan or tribe. Totem pale represents us well with its citrus hop flavor. The Totem Pale is built on a firm foundation of ESB and crystal malts with generous citrus hop additions. We believe that you will also want to make the Black Raven your totem. Available year-round.

Clean, clear, light-amber. A fine northwest pale ale featuring up-front citrusy-piney hops. Very similar aroma and flavor qualities to their IPA when drank side by side, the "little brother". Slightly bigger malt backbone than most pale ales, which is quite pleasing.

On tap at the brewpub. Pours clear copper with a lacy white head. Sweet citrus and pine nose. Light toffee and citrus taste with a lingering resinous finish. I have a hard time seeing the IBUs being as low as 37? Another nicely sessionable beer from Black Raven.
