On tap @ Malt and Vine. Pours dark golden with thin head. Aroma is light hops and bready malts. Taste is crisp citrus hops with balanced caramel toasted malts. Both the hops and malt stick with you through the finish. Maybe the fact that you can only get this on draft makes this better? Either way, one of the top 2 or 3 Washington IPAs around.

Had a tall pint of this beer in the SEA airport. The beer had a classic deep amber color with a large, foamy-creamy white head with pretty good retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured pine, citrus, and grainy hops with a slight touch of malt. The taste was mostly bitter with pine and lighter citrus hops and a touch of grain for a slight sour effect, but also had a very light creamy sweet element. It was a slightly creamy IPA but had above average carbonation with a dry body and finish.

On tap at Corvus & Co. in Capitol Hill, Seattle. Beautiful clarity and a warm copper color. Moderate bitterness, good pale ale character. Overall very good, another PNW brew to applaud.

Bottle on 9/4. Aroma: Grassy hop with fresh pine/cedar, ripe orange and orange peel, mango, yeast. Flavor: Dried mango, orange and orange peel, peppery pine. Long, spicy and bitter fruit (apricot, mango and orange) finish. Comment: A solid IPA. A bit too bitter for my dad.

Piney and herbal aroma and flavor. Nice for a change of pace, but also not the first type of IPA I’d grab. Medium bodied with moderate bitterness. 22 from Tavour.

Rating #1964 2015.09.26 #CraftTakesSeattle Day 3, Beer 65. Draught at TapHouse Grill. Lots of sprucey, piney, herbal notes rupting from this foaming amber pour. earthy, toasty biscuit malt with floral, zesty, herbal hop bitterness.

Lynwood, Wa - on tap at Blazing Onion Burgers, Alderwood Mall. Sparkling, medium copper pour, soft, snow off-white head that leaves a light film of lacing, Solid light spruce aroma with a hint of spearmint. Solid IPA flavor, standard citrus bitterness, some spearmint, a hint of caramel sweetness. Decently thick mouthfeel. Went well with burger. Rating #3 of 2016 vacation.

Shared bomber poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey amber hue, with a sudsy layer of off white head foam that diminished to a bubbly ring & film, and dots & dashes of lacing. The nose was dank, with some Barleywine-ish malt sweetness, esters as pit fruit, and a touch of resin. A bit less than medium bodied, with good carbonation, the taste included some moderate earthy & citrusy bitterness. An okay IPA.

Can from World Beer Market (Sake no Taniguchi). Heavy caramel nose, piney hop, grapefruit, all quite dirty and earthy. Hazy dark amber/orange color. Caramel , weeds, and citrus. It goes quite malty in mid palate, and has strong bitter tracks. Medium-heavy body. Nice. Tasty, but rather heavy handed and maybe too earthy. Tastes and feels more like a DIPA.

Bottle pours a clear copper with a thick slightly tan head that takes forever to dissipate and leaves abundant lacing, best looking appearance I’ve ever seen. Aroma is of rust, cherries, and floral notes. Flavor is fine, nothing special here, although it does hit the tongue a bit hard and there is some medicinal taste. Very little flavor on the swallow although the aftertaste is lasting and the bitterness level is medium.

On draft at Duke’s Chowder in Seattle: short, but powerful hop punch from start to finish. Woody aroma with floral undertones. Good for ipa lovers.
