3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 gracefullypunk (667) - USA - AUG 23, 2009
UPDATED: FEB 13, 2010 On tap at the brewery. Liking IPAs more now so decided this one deserved a re-visit. Faint IPA aroma of piney hops. Taste balances between citrus and peppery hops. Enjoyable.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Dogbrick (4828) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - APR 8, 2012
Sample at the brewpub. This beer pours a clear amber-orange color with a medium off-white head that evaporates slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma consists of fresh citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of floral hops, citrus and caramel malt. The finish is hoppy with a grapefruity aftertaste. Above average overall.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 Aubrey (3191) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - APR 8, 2012
Solid IPA. Deep gold hue with a lasting, lofty head and great lace. Crisp and rich on the tongue. Toasty malts with a subtle caramel sweetness and bread-dough aromas. Snappy hops from start to finish. Notes of grass, pine and flower petals. Citrus in the aftertaste (grapefruit, lemon). Healthy but balanced bitterness. Bold IPA, but it also has finesse.
3.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 michaelinwa (204) - Bothell, Washington, USA - MAR 10, 2012
Well balanced, though with a solid hop presence. Bitterness is under control on this beer, so it manages to be interesting but yet doesn’t get tiresome with simple bitterness with is a problem with many IPAs. I think this is solid, and one of my favorites even if it doesn’t knock your socks off.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 curly (2352) - Seattle (Newcastle), Washington, USA - FEB 25, 2012
Clear gold, medium size head. Aroma of malt and hop, mostly citrus, some floral and resinous as well though. Taste is lightly bitter, malty. Pretty good.

Sweet pale malts, some dough, caramel comes through for sure, nice juicy citrus and piney hops. Pours golden amber, nice head, sheets of lace all that bullshit. Flavors start sweet with pale malts and caramel, finsih with juicy fruity hops grapefruit, floral notes and pine. Well balanced great hop flavor. Drink this shit and choose the path where no one goes, they ask nooo quarterrrrr!

This is quintessential of many WA IPAs, not overly hopped or above 6.5% ABV. The result is a more drinkable session IPA. A slight woodgrain taste adds character. Fun little spot--order a UFO pizza while there.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 trevor211 (980) - Seattle, Washington, USA - SEP 12, 2011
On tap at Brouwer’s Hopfest 2011. Pours a transparent orange-amber, with a small, dense head. (Illegal) herbs on the nose. Crisp. Flavor brings in a ton more malt than the aroma let on. Hop-infused caramel, and bread -- this one swings too far toward sweet for my taste. A bit sticky/syrupy.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 pantanap (2838) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 15, 2011
On tap at uber... Pours a mostly clear cidery lively brown pour with a creamy white head... Citrus hops, touch dank, upfront and equally counterbalanced by semi-sweet biscuity and caramel malt... Flavors are a continuatoin of the same with an emphasis on semi-crisp citrus hop profile. Mild to medium body with adequate carbonation.
One o the better ipas Ive had here.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAR 6, 2011
Draught @ Brouwer’s Café: Golden, slight coppery hue, fairly clear otherwise, moderate white head, mild carbonation, nice lacing. Hoppy on the nose, slight citrus rind. More citrus rind on the tongue than the nose suggested. Otherwise hoppy with a slight dank basement presense. Finish has a little bit of earthiness to it. Fairly well balanced. A not so over the top bitter PNW IPA. Respectable!
