3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 bhensonb (7577) - Woodland, USA - SEP 27, 2009
Bottle from Malt & Vine. No. 232 out of 480. Pours a lightly hazy orange cold with a good fluffy off-white head. Aromas are soft light fruits, banana ester and some yeast/spice. Medium body with very mild carbonation. Flavor is fruit of all kinds. This is the first beer where I’d buy bubblegum as an aspect. It’s mildly astringent, starting towards sweet, ending towards dry, with a lot of hot bits in the finish. Not much heat. The fruit confusion ends mostly on a light stone fruit note. Fairly clean, definitely refreshing.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 jrallen34 (3445) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 1, 2011
Thanks to Alex for another random one. Bottle 383 of 480... Pours a very light gold with not much head, blah... The aroma is light honey and malt, boring... It tastes like honey water, easy to drink and hides the 9% fantastically. A touch to light and boring.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (4104) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - FEB 19, 2011
Bottle:   Golden hued straw, slight haze, moderate to thin sudsy white head, sparce lacing.   Big barnish malty/hay like aroma, slight corn/mealy like tinge.   Comes across as an aroma of a Belgian Ale with some Pale Lager aspects.   Very much the same on the tongue, malty, cereal, corny...   Its very much a cross between a pale Belgian beer and American Pale Lager.   Yeah, sweet corny aspect is the main thing for this beer.   As it warms it seems to be more of a Pale Lager than anything.   Yeah, big time mealy, barnish, corny malt like flavors.   For some reason I thought this was going to be more of a Belgian Strong Ale.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate... perhaps the malts make it feel a little thicker than others.   Still comes across as a BIG Pale Lager.   Its clean, enjoyable, but at nearly $15 a 750ml I probably wont buy any more, and certainly not age any additional bottles.   Not bad, good summer sipper, but just not that memorable nor big to be one of those where I go... Ohhhhh, I want to age this one and/or buy several to share with friends.   Not bad, just a little let down with the simpleness of this beer, not to mention the price for such a concoction.
