2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle courtesy of psiweaver in the Good People/No Rules BIF. Served in a Mikasa tulip.
Pours a slightly-hazed peach color with a good white head and loads and loads of lacing on the sides of the glass. The nose brings a bit of alcohol and malt plus some citrus hops and a light bit of pine. Flavor takes a further turn toward the malt, though thereís quite a bit of hop bitterness in the background. Medium body with a bit too much alcohol. Slight chewiness. Decent DIPA.

22 ounce bottle thanks to Prufrockstar. Golden orange in color. Malty body with caramel. Bitter hoppy aroma. Lots of balance in taste. Very well done.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap, Pours a golden light orange color with a medium white head that leaves good lacing. Smells of pine, citrus, grapefruit and resin. Tastes of all the same things in the smell with slight mango there. Mouthfeel is oily but creamy with great carbonation and a dry finish. Not as good as I remember a few years back but still one of the best local double ipas around. Seek the seeker!

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap @ Collins Pub. Pours bright translucent golden yellow with thin white head. Aroma is just a hint of malt and big juicy citrusy, piney fresh hops. Taste is light pale malt with huge hops on the back: big earthy fresh hops with notes of grapefruit, orange, and pine. One if the least malty DIPAs youíll find, and slightly thin bodied, but plenty of flavor to balance the hops. Only slightly sweet, not the syrupy malt bomb some are. I usually like those, but this is delicious - right up there with Stone Enjoy By for fresh DIPAs.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Screw top growler from trade with michaelinwa filled on 9/14. Pours a bright golden orange color with a medium foamy head that normally and leaves great lacing. Aroma is pungent and perfumy herbal hops with some citrus and malt. Taste has a light sweetness and strong bitterness. Very herbal with some grapefruit, oranges, grass and pine. A nice malt flavor makes it through too. Finish is sweet and smooth, even a little juicy. Medium body, some oiliness in the mouthfeel. Iím pretty impressed with this. Really glad I got to have it out of a growler also. Thanks Mike!

Black Raven Wisdom Seeker 2013, pour from growler purchased on release day at the brewery. Splendid DIPA, albeit not quite up to Pliny the Younger levels. Solid malt base, balanced and then some by fresh hoppiness that is very much grapefruit oriented. Very bitter, but somehow doesn't get in the way. This is the real deal. A-

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottled on Apr 18, consumed on Apr 19. Aroma of fresh, bright tropical fruit. Citrus, dank. Smells pretty damned good. Bread and cat pee more present as it warms. Pours crystal clear light amber with frothy white head, some lacing. Tastes quite a bit drier than any of the double IPAs Iíve had to date. Great bitterness through and through, with little in the way of underlying sweetness. Big citrus, somewhat dank, bitterness, with long finish. Lively carbonation, medium body, lightly oily texture. Overall: Finally got a taste of this one, since bottles donít often make it to my side of town. The nice and refreshing lack of sweetness at the start became increasingly harsh to me as this went on. Iím curious to see if that varies much from batch to batch -- Iíll definitely seek this out again in any case.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Previous notes....Pours dark honey amber with a crisp bubbly head. The aroma is sweet and brings notes of grapefruit and citrus rind as well. There are flavors of citrus and grapefruity hops on a smooth and crisp bitter hoppy body.
