Commercial Description: Coal black in appearance, this full bodied ale starts out with a bittersweet chocolate and caramel malt character and finishes dry and roasty, almost espresso-like with just a touch of hops. Porter was the first industrialized beer coming of age during the industrial revolution in 18th century England. Excellent with smoked and barbecued meats, grilled vegetables, strong cheeses and desserts.
Unfortunately this brewpub is no longer open. What a shame. This was a decent porter, nothing spectacular, but a nice drink nonetheless. Ah well, what can you do.
