(on bottle) Tar black and tar aroma and some wood, still a black and wooded mofo. It´s not a great body and this finish could be heavier, I liked it none the less for it´s well made craftsmanship and the tar.

It’s pitch-black with a brown, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of peat smoke, oak, whisky, rosted malt, licorice and ashes. The mouth-feel is oily. The flavour has notes of ashes, peat smoke, oak, smoked meat, roasted malt, coffee, licorice and the finish is dry. It’s an exciting beer.

Draught at Valhal. Black with a nice beige head. Aroma and flavour of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla and with smoked notes.

Black with a brown head. Aroma heavy malty (roasted, burnt, smoke, oak). Flavor medium sweet and bitter, quite impressive. Medium body.

SBWF 2010. Black beer with a beige head. Oaky vanilla aroma, milky with chocolate notes. Vanilla flavor, roasted, milky, creamy, some chocolate and cocoa.

Draft @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty smokey chocolate and licorice aroma. Roasted malty smokey chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty smokey finish with hints of chocolate and licorice in the aftertaste and some woody hints.

On tap at CPHBF2010. Pours black with a yellow head. Quite sweet and bitter. Aromas of caramel, molasses, dates and raisins. Medium to full bodied. Dry finish with a bit more sweetness.
