Pours cloudy dark amber with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, roasted malt and licorice. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle.Pours deep amber with a big off-white head.Aroma of spicy hops, malt and caramel.Flavor is sweet malty with some licorice and spicy hops.Medium body, average carbonation.

It’s hazy red-brown with a dense, creamy and lasting head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, caramel, light butterscotch, light spice, mostly anise/rubber. The flavour is moderately sweet with notes of roasted malt, burnt caramel, candy-sugar, light oranges, nuts, nougat and the finish is very dry.

On bottle from Gammel Strand Øl & Vinlager. Reddish brown slightly cloudy with medium off-white head that laces the glass. Aroma is dominated by syrupy caramel with some burnt notes. Taste is medium sweet. Full-bodied with creamy texture. Soft carbonation. Long finish.

Draugth at Valhal. Hazy dark amber colour with a small off-white head. Aroma and flavour of hops, caramel, spice, malt and fruit.

Tap. Dark brown nearly without head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, light spicy and light hoppy. Flavor is rather sweet and nicely bitter. The finish is soft and dry. 021210

2010-vintage: A slightly muddy brown color that carries the smell of hops and gasoline (!!?). It’s also rather hoppy on in the mouth, but the body is rather thin but delicious.It tastes nice with hints of plum, prunes and apricots and it hasn’t got any of the nauseating malt sweetness that characterizes too many brown ales. Good, long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle at a MesandSim rating party. A brown ale. Some malt some fruit. Touch of jammy fruit and spice. Some milk choc. Not very brown ale-y. Some hops, some choc. Quite nice.

Hazy cupper with a fine tanned head. Fresh, malty aroma with sea weeds, hops, burnt coffee and caramel. Bitterfresh flavor with sea weeds and salt, caramel, coffee, liqourice and a hint of christmas spices. Rather unexpected surprise.
