COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION

2010-vintage: A slightly muddy brown color that carries the smell of hops and gasoline (!!?). It’s also rather hoppy on in the mouth, but the body is rather thin but delicious. It tastes nice with hints of plum, prunes and apricots and it hasn’t got any of the nauseating malt sweetness that characterizes too many brown ales. Good, long bitter aftertaste.

Bottle at a MesandSim rating party. A brown ale. Some malt some fruit. Touch of jammy fruit and spice. Some milk choc. Not very brown ale-y. Some hops, some choc. Quite nice.

Hazy cupper with a fine tanned head. Fresh, malty aroma with sea weeds, hops, burnt coffee and caramel. Bitterfresh flavor with sea weeds and salt, caramel, coffee, liqourice and a hint of christmas spices. Rather unexpected surprise.

50cl, as The Pro’s and Con’s of Christmas, new exclusive Danish brew Anno 2009, thx to MadsNP!, not complex brew, spicy, yet balanced, hazy, rocky head, nice X-Mas brew, but expensive!

Draught@CPH BeerFest2010. Hazy amber colour with small beige head. Aroma is spices, fruits, wood, some grassyness as well. Flavour is sweet malts, some earth, mild wood as well as some earthy and spicy notes. A rather spicy brew, but would probably fit the Xmas table rather well.

Sampled @ Copenhagen Beer Festival 2010. Hazy, dark brown body with a medium off-white head. Aroma is slightly spicy, light roasted malt and dry fruit. Flavor is malt, caramel, some chocolate, dry fruit and balanced bitter. It’s quite straightforward, but very nice, balanced and well made. I just really, really like this one.

UPDATED: APR 20, 2011 On tap at KØ-10. It’s a hazy, brownish beer with a nice, dense, finger-thick off-white head. Roasted nose with dark chocolate and a touch of dried fruits. Roasted, almost burnt flavor with coffee and chocolate. The bitterness is of the roasted kind, both initially and in the aftertaste. Dryish, yet sweet, and full-bodied. A nice one, well suited for the dark months. Rating: 7-4-7-4-15-3.7. 100507

Bottle. It pours a hazy, dark copper to brown body and a dense, beige head. Roasted nose with a sourish touch. Some chocolate and coffee, hints of licorice. The flavor is pretty much the same, quite roasted that is. Medium to full body. Well, it’s a nice beer, but compared to what I tasted at the beer festival in Copenhagen, I’m disappointed. Still, it’s far from bad. 110420
