"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Where: Old Line Fine Wine Spirits & Bistro. How: 500ml bottle. Appearance: Pours clear copper with nice beige head, good retention. Aroma: Liquorice-tinged malt and English hops. Taste: Warmish malt flavours and slightly astringent hop bitterness. Palate: Light body but rather creamy however it does have a slightly strange finish. Overall: Not bad, interesting bitter. Worth a try.

Lively from the bottle. Amber with thin head and soft carbonation. Malty, yeasty nose with wood hints. Dry malty taste with hints of grass, toast, earth, marmite and metal, but a bit watery. No finish to talk of. Watery palate as well.

500ml bottle. Clear dark orange/amber colour with a small white head. Aroma is malty. Taste is malty, slight hint of roasting, some hoppy bitterness. Nothing special just an average bitter in my opinion.

A classic Northern bitter, amber-brown, rich and dry-bitter, with earthy hops and tangy malt.

Bottle from the local offie, bought for my dad to drink on Christmas Day, but we ended up on wine all day. Anyhow, it’s oddly, slightly hazy amber. Film of cream coloured head. Nose has fruity, nutty, toffee malts. Some floral and vinous notes. Taste is moderately bitter with a tickle of sweetness. Smooth palate. Soft bitter finish that gets vinous dry toward the end. Always had a soft spot for Black Sheep beers, and this is a pretty decent bottled version of the cask beer.

500ml bottle, shared during Freiburg 2015 Jolly Cellar Clearing. - This beer’s ominous onomastics that forced Freiburg’s Dolly to her new name, having been grazing around the Yorkshire moors for longer than our local IPA aroudn the Black Forest - so what was the reference worth here? - Damp, honeylike malt aromatics and little orange bitters in the nose becomes agreeably caramel-dry and UK hop tealeaf-bitter on a quite straightforwardly delicious malt aromatic thin cake. Notes of Earl Grey abound and reverberate. Could be a tad drier in mouthfeel (some wheat fruiti/sogginess there), still very downable and typical. Belgian anti-booze bonus points for avant-la-lettre sessionability.

Classic English bitter. Apparent hop profile with a steady base of malt. Dry and crispy finish.
