3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml Bottle: BBD 28 Jun 2014, poured into a UK pint sleeve at home on 19 Oct 2013.
Good amber body with an off-white head that tried to stay around.
Which ingredient gives the aroma and taste lead? Malts, but only just, this is a good blend of flavours and smells.
Semi-sweet malty molasses actually rule the flock in this Black Sheep brew. Caramel and mild toffee notes come through with an undertone of hop bitterness asserting itíself towards the end of the nose and taste.
Mellow and soft body: very easy to drink.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml bottle into an Imperial Pint glass.
Appearance: The body has an orange amber color with a two finger head of light off white foam. The head is slow fading with a wispy thin layer just hanging on. Lacing is spotty and slick.
Smell: It has a very light aroma. All I really get is very light bready malt with very mild fruitiness.
Taste/Palate: Like the nose it has a light bready malt base with thin fruit notes. This is backed up and balanced by mild citrus and herbal hop bitterness. The light body has soft and mild carbonation and a somewhat thin and almost watery feel.
Notes: Overall it goes down easy but the thin feel and flavor are a bit of a let down. I do like what is there but I just want a little more of it.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle at Solberge Hall Hotel, N Yorks, at my cousin Beckys wedding 05/10/13. At £4.80 for the bottle - one was more than enough !!!
Clear copper with a moderate off white head, light carbonation evident.
Nose is toffee, grain, bread dough.
Taste comprises toffee, light fruit tang, brown bread dough, bready malts.
Medium bodied, the carbonation is slightly prickly, a little over pitched. grassy bitterness in the finale.
So so bottled bitter.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from my wife- cheers! A copper beer with a moderate foamy off-white head. Some metal from the pasteurization in the malty whiff. Flavour is mainly about the maltiness, with a side order of biscuits and nuts. There?s a few dry, crackly leaves and a little earth in the background, and a long, dry, moderately bitter finish and an aftertaste of stewed black tea. Decent creamy mouthfeel for a pasteurized beer. I?m not normally a fan of Black Sheep beers but this one is not baa?d (sorry, couldn?t resist it...).

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
25/08/13. Pours amber with a small, beige head. Aroma is basic bitter. Caramel and flowers, mostly similar. A bit soapy. Taste is regular bitter as well, caramel and flowers. Pretty carbonated and decent palate. These things are a lot better from cask rather than bottle. Forgettable and similar to most other bottled bitters.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Pours a copper body, with a small very light brown head tha leaves a fair lace. Faint to almost no aroma at the start, some malts, roastiness and maybe some raisins when the beer gets warmer, not sure though. Pleasant medium bitter taste, light bitter aftertaste. Watery texture, thin body, average to high carbonation. Decent, nothing special though.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
0.5l bottle. Clear orange body, off-white head. Aroma of toast, caramel and grassy, fruity hops with a minimal roastyness, Taste of toasty, nutty, caramely malts with a hint of roasted malts followed by the grassy, orangy hops. Super drinkable. For me itís an awesome session ale. Should have higher score.
