2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20 LoveCaissa (873) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUN 10, 2005
Orange colour with a fine white head. Decent fruity aroma and a surprisingly full mouthfeel but overall the beer didn’t impress me.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Strykzone (3132) - Wood River, Illinois, USA - JUN 4, 2005
Aroma is of very ripe fruit, although it is not a strong aroma. Has the feel of an Old World brew which is very appealing. An initial kick settles into a light bitterness. This beer is very drinkable, smooth and easy. Was sorry to see the pint go dry.
2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 iambeer (255) - Ontario, CANADA - MAY 22, 2005
Lightly bittered, a large foamy head that disapated quicky. Almost no nose at all, a tinge of citrus, not bad but like yainikim say "not an ale"
2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 scotty (904) - SCOTLAND - MAY 21, 2005
Bright, clean copper/gold, BIG fluffy white head. Where’s the nose on this? hang on there’s a hint of spice coming through now...and that’s it ...ooohh!!disappointing! Bland palate, light and grainy, short finish. It must be a couple of years since I last tasted this, has it really gone downhill that much?
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 hughie (3992) - Bedford, Bedfordshire, ENGLAND - MAY 20, 2005
Looks good. The head lasted very well. Hint of sweetness in the aroma and also in the flavour. Good, bitter finish. Not hugely complex, but satisfying.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 ilovesmebeer (7) - FRANCE - MAY 20, 2005 does not count
I like this stuff, even though it is quite an old man’s drink. It slips down your throat like a weasel down a drainpipe and just the smell of it reminds me of a Yorkshire Dales pub in winter time, the fire roaring in the grate and local farmers sitting at the bar discussing lambing. Goes very well with red meat I’ve found, especially steak pie. A very drinkable ale,
if, of course, you’re an ale fan.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 yalnikim (800) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - MAY 19, 2005
UPDATED: NOV 10, 2005 Retasted 07/11/2005. 500ml bottle from Liquorland, Miramar.
Bright orange amber with a light, tight, white head that lingers rather than holds. Sticky lacing. Big perfumey, orange, malt aroma with toasty hints. Some delicate hop fruitiness is suggested later. Dry, roasted, malt-driven character that allows through a delicate sweetness in the finish, becoming more noticeable as it warms. Mouthfeel is on the light end of the spectrum. Nice, easy, drinking but it’s too light and simple to get close to spectacular.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lou18 (1353) - West Paterson, New Jersey, USA - MAY 16, 2005
This was ok. Poured a clear amber with small head. Nose is weak with sugar and spice? Nothing great, easy to drink, with a watery mouth feel.

Copper colored and clear with a thin creamy head. Caramel and wet cardboard aroma. Light in body with a mild bitter finish. Flavors if malt and toffee and a bit of earthy hops.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 tjthresh (1849) - Greenfield, Indiana, USA - MAY 9, 2005
One of those pint bottles typical of the imports form the UK. No freshness date.
Has the smell of baked goods. Oatmeal cookies. Some butterscotch.
Hazy. Light copper. Pour with a good head.
Malty sweet. More cookies. Dry bitter finish
Medium body.
A nice drinker. I wouldn’t go out of my way though
