COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle; Pasteurised.
"Beers for bottling are drawn from brewery conditioning tanks and transported by road tanker to our bottlers. There they are chilled, stored for ten days, then filtered and bottled. At the end of the bottling process, the bottles are pasteurised, labelled and packed."
"Brewed with many generous handfuls of choice Golding hops, it is full flavoured ale with a rich fruit nose. The bittersweet malty taste is followed by an uncompromising long, dry and bitter finish. This beer was the first, most successful, of all of our bottled beers."

Not too bad of a beer. pours nice with a good head. Lacing down to the last drink. Aroma is that of malt and some faint hops. Taste is typical British bitter to me. Palate is dominated by malt, with some good hop bitterness and fairly dry, somewhat minerally finish. Overall a good beer that I would drink again.

Pours a dark, golden amber colour with an off white sizable head that persists. Great lacing. Mostly malty flavour without a lot of hoppiness to balance it out. Some burnt caramel and other spices.

It’s an all right bitter, nothing too special. Nothing to write home about, but I would have it again if it was around.

I like this stuff, even though it is quite an old man’s drink. It slips down your throat like a weasel down a drainpipe and just the smell of it reminds me of a Yorkshire Dales pub in winter time, the fire roaring in the grate and local farmers sitting at the bar discussing lambing. Goes very well with red meat I’ve found, especially steak pie. A very drinkable ale, if, of course, you’re an ale fan.

Nice color and head. Godd after taste. Not too bitter. As others have said, could have had more body. Very smooth. A very drinkable British Ale.

A light, refreshing, but thick ale, that has a satisfyingly concentrated aroma. I find it very well balanced in every respect. Or is it maybe a tad too bitter? No, it’s just good.

When I visited London a couple of years back I’d get thirsty and grab something off the shelf in the supermarket. This was the one that did the job the best. It was not as rich as I’d like it but sure served as an ’appetizer’ for more to come as I was quenching my thirst between tourist attractions.

poured a cloudy amber color with almost no head that dissipates to nothing but a ring that lingers along the wall of the glass. starts off with lots of carbonation and ends with a few bubble trails here and there. great aroma of hops, fruit maybe apricot or apple, toffee, caramel, and i think a kind of nut. mouth feel is nothing special almost like water and in the end it disappoints with an okay start of flavor that transitions into somewhat but not very bitter hops and gets drowned out by a very strong water taste. if i wanted water i would have bought a lager. sad.
